It wasn't a mortgage, so I don't have a house to show for it, but it's still a nice feeling!

Thank you all. There have been times where I had to check my bank balance every single day so I didn't go beyond my overdraft limit. There were times where the only way I could pay my credit card bill

debt free feels sooooo good. I made a lot of mistakes along the way but it has been decades since I have had a handle on it. Congrats!

So many mistakes and poor choices... Right now I sit here with a roof over my head, a 43" TV, a ps5 and a car outside, and know that each one is all paid for.

Credit cards are fine, provided you pay them off in full each month. They also offer more protection for disputing fraudulent charges
