There's only two S'bucks left in Sydney, much less than a few years ago. Sydney has a huge cafe culture and it's good to see the mix. S'bucks seems to offer a sense of community and place.
They have a critical mass of customers to keep going. Fine with me. I go to Sbucks if I'm in North America - my order is only three words - double shot espresso or double shot Americano.
Speaking of community, M.... the Sbx near me has a standing reservation one evening every week for a group of animators who sit at the long table and create. The store loves having them there.
Wow EC. That's great about the animators. What a cool store it must be. Cafe communities are about the people that choose to engage, not the store's name IMO
Absolutely, M......and what attracts loyal customers is stellar customer service. Sbx may represent the wrong thing for some but they know what the public wants.
Amuse....the point I was raising is not that you're a nobody because you don't frequent Sbx. It''s about the person at the front of the line ordering something with 8 words in it that makes me nuts.
Have another reason to dislike Starbucks. My town tried to woo them to open here but said in effect we were not good enough for them. So you know where they can put their coffee beans.
