It's a rf chip that help to get pets home when lost, shelters can scan the animal and see who owns it then contact it's owner

And some vets don't have the scanner that works for all chips. It's a system that needs help for sure.

True, however many people let the yearly reregisteration lapse, the 3 major manufactures all say 45 to 49% register yearly

here in aus when chips are put in they are registered there and then and thats it, lasts till the animal passes. no yearly fees at all

just the other day an old lady found a dog wandering about 8 yrs ago, the original owners got there dog back becuase the lady could no longer care for it and was scanned which is when they found the..
