Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

Someone I've known for 30 years has vanished. Not a trace. Anywhere. I suppose it's time to dust off the old P.I. license. ~

Give me coffee to help me to change the things I can and wine to accept those things I can't. ~

I need to re-home a dog. It's a small terrier and tends to bark a lot. If you're interested let me know and I'll jump over the neighbor's fence and get it for you. ~

| Sunday, August 11, 2024, 4:35:30 PM- It's about time | ||
I just read an article about time. Mostly very scientific, but one little gem stuck out: The first serious advocate for daylight saving time was a New Zealand entomologist in 1895. He wanted extra daylight hours in the summer to look for insects. And here I always thought it was for duffers to be able to play an extra hour of golf every day. ~

I heard this old saying when I was a kid: 'There's no such thing as a free lunch'. The older I get, the truer that statement is. Everybody wants something... even if it's 'only' your time. ~

It cooled off last night and I slept like a log. I didn't want to get out of bed, but I dragged myself out and got through my routine. Now I'm ready to get maxin' and relaxin'. ![]()

| Thursday, August 8, 2024, 8:15:52 PM- Mad? At me? | ||
Walking through the neighborhood the other morning, I passed a woman mowing her yard. She stopped and used the bottom part of her tee shirt to mop sweat of her brow. I smiled. She then raised her shirt up farther to show me her breasts. I swear I meant to wave, but it looked like I was wagging my hand in a so-so gesture. I was not surprised when she responded with a one finger salute. You just can't express how sorry you are when the lawn mower drowns out your words. ~

| Wednesday, August 7, 2024, 6:03:05 PM- Cheese-louise | ||
I watched a video on Facebook yesterday that still has me laughing. It was all about babies crying and how to stop them from crying. Turns out tossing a slice of cheese on their heads, anywhere, stops the crying almost immediately. Too bad I forgot the link, but I'm sure it can be found on Youtube. ~
