I am 72 years old. I don't use the phrase 'back in my day', unless I want people to stop paying attention to what I say. Better wording is 'here's something people could try' and then sound like what everyone used to do is a new idea. I don't like being mocked because I don't understand a new technology or phrase, so I make pains to learn what they are. I pay more attention to women in their 50s and 60s now, but it does hurt my ego to become invisible to women under those ages. Even worse is being labelled a dirty old man or a pervert because I will smile or speak to someone in their 20s and 30s. Aging ain't easy, but you adapt, hold your head high and keep going. ~ | ||
