When I was a kid, I wanted to be a Major League baseball player -

That changed in high school when I found out I couldn't hit a slider.

As a young man, I wanted to be an actor -

Other than some extra work in 4 movies and being able to read for a commercial,

I couldn't even get an agent.

I've always wanted to be a published author -

Aside from a couple of letters to the editor in the local paper and being quoted in a columnist's article and writing this blog -

I haven't made it yet. I haven't even tried to write anything in a few years.

That makes me 0 for 3 to date.

Am I the only person whose dreams didn't come true?

Not likely -

I read things all the time about people who wanted to be one thing and wound up being another.

At least I'm not alone!

It will take another three days of serious eating to finish off my Thanksgiving feast.

Trust me... I'm not complaining.

For those of you who believe in getting vaccinated, I set up my appointment for a booster shot on December 3rd.

Waiting eleven days is o.k., even though my first two shots were available by appointment within a week.

It just means, to me, that those of use who want the booster are many.

I spent 2 hours this morning seated on the Porcelain God.

It made itself clear to me while I groaned and grimaced that one should check how long things have been sitting in the fridge before using them.

Old sauce on new burritos is a deadly combination.

Get into the habit of writing the date of when you opened something on the jar or package.
