This wasn't a racial question.... but more of an attitudinal one. I'm curious what that kind of money does to a kid who's basically still wet behind the ears.
Most athletes live large and know no spending limits. Most are bankrupt within 3 years after they stop playing. This is pretty much true in all sports.
One of the problems is they spend a lot on things (cars, houses, dining, women etc) while they are playing. Once their career is over it's hard to put the brakes on that lifestyle. Savings go away
Techically athletes are paid to be ambassadors of their sport, ao their behaviour away from the court should mirror what happens on the court and public appearances - but does that happen?
It's a broader question than the NBA. All that money and status and testosterone. I sincerely hope they have managers that set them up for life after the game ie most of their adult lives..
