Why not go on holiday? Go to the wavy slopes of Mount Tighty Whitey.

Then remember back to the day when this was popular!

How about a little pinch on the toushie? hehehe

Then what about for the Mobster on the run? Yes indeed. This is of course the tighty "Whitey Bulger" underwear line wink

Now the last one... not really a blog picture . But I wish I had remembered that fabric markers were permanent ! Now I have 2 eyes on my Dick! LOL...... sigh!

Sunday, September 13, 2015, 4:14:19 AM- Finished Project
This is the finished project.
A walnut bowl. With what is called a "Live Edge" a natural form.
Hope it was worth the wait smile
This is in my shop with the finish still drying.

At the house with a slightly more regular setting. Dry finish.

A look at the bottom. A textured surface.

And decorated.

smile Thanks for looking and indulging me in letting this "mystery" drag out some lol

A more refined edge than the previous blog.... cleaner ,straighter.... almost there

A view of the bottom... which I am starting to work on...

A view of the other side of the bottom....

An edge on view.... showing some of my layout lines and a bit of the work I been doing on the bottom....

Have a new project. Making it from Texas Walnut. Beautiful wood. My work in this gorgeous wood has been documented in mine and another blog before, so it should be familiar with y'all.
Anyways, I won't say what it is for now. As I am still working on it. And if it doesn't turn out I can say what it is then and no one will know otherwise smile
Start with the log....

These are the tools I start out with for rough shaping...

This is some of the debris from that rough shaping...

This is a small part of the project after a little refining(plus a couple of the tools I use for the refining process). Still a quite a ways to go... but I love this stage of the work....

That is all for now. See ya.

This is the reason I got that ax and those 2 knives. To start making spoons and bowls out of "green" wood. This is Texas black walnut my son found for me.
And of course the first spoon I make is a coffee scoop smilesmilesmilesmile

Put a finish of Formby's lemon oil furniture oil on it.

Hope y'all like smile
