The day started out chilly and wet, but by late afternoon the sun emerged and the temperature rose nicely into the low 70's.

A catchy jingle that I grew up on. For me, it's still true today. Although baseball is no longer the #1 sport in the U.S., I love it to my core. I played for years growing up and even had a tryout with a major league team at 19.

Baseball doesn't play well on t.v. and I can see why. Unlike other sports, baseball has the wrong sense of what their audience wants to see. Too many closeups of the pitchers and the batters. BORING! You don't see those when you go to a live game... you see the whole field. Somewhere this was lost, and the presentation is terrible. Having a view from behind home plate is the best and shows all of the action all of the time. Football and basketball both show the whole scene. I'd love to see baseball do the same.

Baseball is unique. The only game where the defense has the ball and is so hard to play (just try hitting a round ball with a round bat while it is being thrown to you at around 90 + m.p.h.) and you're a star if you do well hitting 30% of the time.

Football is power, basketball is speed. Baseball is chess... you have to be able to look at least three moves ahead.

I've played all of these sports. I was a good wide receiver in football back in high school and a small forward with a great baseline jumper (and you'd better be good to make the high school team here in my hometown. Our high school has a rich tradition in basketball... most state championships by one school). But, put me in the outfield on a sunny, warm day and I'm one happy guy.

Sometimes I check out NN and everything moves SO slowly.

It's frustrating for someone like me who has limited time to be here Monday through Friday.

It's really frustrating when you put in the exact address for a video from youtube and then it posts here as "This video does not exist."

No. It's sunny and in the 70's here. Yes, I have to work, but I don't go in until 5:00 pm, so I get the best part of the day!

If the wind picks up and is blowing towards your windows, do not open them. I dusted yesterday and after leaving the windows open all day, I have a lot of dust to get rid of again.

Fixed breakfast. Did the dishes. Two loads of laundry. Cleaned apartment. Lunch and dishes. Went to the bank, grocery and bookstore. Yoga. Answered mail and paid last two bills of the month online.

It's now almost 8:30 pm. Time to shower, then fix dinner. After the dishes, a movie and a couple of drinks.

What a busy, sunny day... gotta love it!

Woke up today and went outside to pick up the newspaper and saw something odd...

This bright yellow thing in the sky that hurt my eyes to look upon.

After weeks of rain and cloudiness, it took me amoment to realize what it was.

Oh, happy day!
