The Supervisor's daughter has been working with us for two years now. She was sixteen at the start and now eighteen. It is indeed a pleasure to see how much she has grown into an intelligent, responsible, pretty young woman. She isn't perfect. Case in point: 60 days ago she got a ticket for not wearing her seat belt. To be fair, she was riding in the middle of the seat in a truck. The driver was speeding, so she actually got off easy. Last night at work I see her staring at her phone, an anxious look on her face. "I forgot to pay my ticket!" she said. Her Mother and Father were both upset with her, understandably. She was worried she might go to jail for a $25.00 fine. Luckily, her Mother stepped up and paid the fine online. Mother then texted her and told her no more driving her car until the payment was verified. Then her Dad called her and told her no more driving, period (he was mad). I told her I would give her a ride home if it came to that. She was more worried about being home alone. Her Dad is in the hospital recovering from heart surgery, and her Mom is staying with him. The hospital is about 100 miles away. Her two brothers are staying at their Grandparents house and she said she might go there too. I'm going to send her a message to see how she's doing. Having known this sweet kid for two ears makes me feel a little protective of her. I'm sure all is well, even with the sex offender living on her block. Glad I'm not a kid today! ~

My starter on my car froze up on me yesterday. Luckily, a guy had a hammer to tap it so that I could get it started so that I could drive home. You can probably guess what I'll be doing Monday now. My mechanic loves me! ![]()

| Saturday, July 22, 2017, 9:09:55 PM- Snail mail | ||
Took about a week, but my next book to read on breaks and during lunch arrived on Friday in the mail, ordered from Amazon . H.G. Wells Classic Collection, including the novels : The Time Machine, The Island of Doctor Moreau, The War of the Worlds, First Men in the Moon and The Invisible Man. At only 676 total pages, it won't take too long to finish. In comparison, I finished reading Under the Dome by Stephen King in a little over a month and a half, and it was 1074 pages. I like to bounce back and forth between contemporary and classic authors. different styles and different time periods. Yay, reading! ~
