Standing outside work the other day having a quick smoke, when a gorgeous woman who works in the office comes out the door, leaving for the day. I tell her she looks nice today. She smiles and says thank you, walks another few feet and points at my cigarette and says: That's a bad habit, then walks on to her car. The next time I saw her at work I stopped, looked her up and down and said: I'd give you a compliment, but I don't feel like being criticized five seconds later. I walked away while she looked confused. Because I say something nice to a person does not give them the right to be mean in return. Common manners, ya know? ~ | ||

As the old saying goes: It's not the heat, it's the humidity. 83 degrees wouldn't ordinarily be considered hot... actually quite comfortable. But when the humidity rises above 75%, it is well over 90 degrees in what they now call "real feel". It makes for interesting patterns of going about one's daily routine. I daresay that slow but steady is the norm right now. Cold front moving in tonight. YAY! ~ | ||
