What's your biggest fear? Over the years, I have learned to confront mine. Sometimes it's as easy as taking a deep breath and just doing it. Other things require the 'baby steps' approach, doing it gradually. The one fear I can't seem to shake is the fear of being crushed. It's not exactly claustrophobia. I can take being hugged or held tightly. It's when something is sitting or pressing on my chest, making it difficult to breathe. I've no desire to go spelunking or cave exploring. Every time I even see someone in a movie or t.v. show doing that and getting stuck, it gives me the willies. I suppose I should count myself lucky. My fear could be much, much worse. ~

| Sunday, August 1, 2021, 7:31:13 PM- Sometimes it takes a long time... | ||
... to make up your mind. On the weekends I have time to cook. Saturday evening I had roast beef, with all of the trimmings. Until a few moments ago, I couldn't figure out what I wanted for Sunday dinner. Biscuits and gravy sounds really good. I make the gravy with the grease from the bacon I fry up first. Making old fashioned 'drop' biscuits takes me back to watching my mother do the same. It wasn't a monumental decision. I just sometimes like having breakfast for dinner, that's all. Now excuse me while I ponder dessert. ~

Maybe colorized, but Babe Ruth in color: Also, a submariner pitcher, slow motion of the Babe's swing and an early attempt at instant replay. Good little film. ~

| Tuesday, July 27, 2021, 6:36:18 PM- One of those days | ||
It's hot outside, which means it will be hotter inside today when I get to work. I woke up today with a nagging voice telling me to quit. I'm wanting to retire this year and days like this make me want to just throw in the towel and walk away. I'm not hurting financially, but I don't feel like the time is now to let go. So I will suck it up and go in today, even though my mind wants to be somewhere else. Being an adult with a nagging conscience is no piece of cake. ~
