Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

Getting ready to go out for my daily walk. Today it is cloudy, but around 50 degrees. Tomorrow, Rain and 32 degrees. I'm taking a longer walk today, because I don't want to get soaking wet tomorrow. Another perk of being retired: Avoiding inclement weather. ~

In a world where everyone wants whatever they're wanting right NOW, the United States Postal Service has long had the moniker of 'snail mail'. Growing up, everyone had to wait on the mail. Growing up, it was a pleasure to order something in the mail, because of the anticipation you felt as those few days would drag by before your package arrived. As I grow older, I rather like waiting on something due to arrive in the mail - it brings back that long ago anticipation I miss from my youth. Today I got to see the USPS in action in a different way: The letter carrier on my route had his vehicle break down right in front of my house. I suppose it was either the battery or the starter, but the engine just wouldn't turn over. Thinking it might be a while before he received help, I quit watching and went ahead and showered and shaved. Much to my surprise, 15 minutes later the whole scene had changed. A USPS wrecker had arrived with another vehicle to replace the one broken down. The driver unloaded the replacement and was loading up the old one while the postal carrier transferred mail to the newer vehicle. All of this was done in around 35-40 minutes. Kudos to the USPS for keeping the mail going. As I walked into my kitchen to start my coffee, I wondered: If that had been UPS or FedEx, how long would the wait have been? You've got to admire a company that's prepared... Snail mail indeed! ~

I bought some frozen orange juice at the grocery the other day. It was much cheaper than what I normally buy. It said on the label: 100% juice. After I put it in a container and added water, it didn't look right. It didn't taste right, either. I read the label and was informed it contains 10% apple juice. I see that you really do get what you pay for. ~

Had a lie in today, then got up and had donuts with chocolate milk to eat while watching old Warner Brothers cartoons on t.v., followed by a Three Stooges short. Your youth never completely deserts you if you don't want it to. ~
