I forgot to mention that I retired a week ago. It was the last day of the pay period and a winter storm was about to arrive here, so I said "Fuck It!", left a message for my supervisor where he would definitely find it, and left. I didn't bother calling the owner because we don't get along at all. Since then I have not set my alarm clock when I go to bed. I eat, shower and am online at the usual times. I watch a little more t.v., but still read, do my daily cross words and work out the same. Two main differences: I now take long walks. And, most importantly, I no longer feel any job related stress. I have arrived at the summit and plan on staying there. ~ | ||||||

Yesterday evening, after dinner, I sat down in my recliner to watch a little television. In a few minutes I drifted off to sleep. After a short nap, I woke up and looked at the t.v. and saw the picture but heard no sound. For a few seconds I thought I had either lost the sound or, in a slight panic, that I had gone deaf. After my brain unmuddled from sleep, I realized, to my great relief, that I was only sitting on the remote control. Phew! ~ | ||

One more example of the intelligence level of people, or the lack thereof: When I (finally) was able to get back online, after the broadband being down for 38 hours, more than one person asked me what I did for heat in my home. We are starting to slide towards new lows when people don't comprehend these things. ~ | ||||||

Yesterday my computer decided I was not allowed to access certain websites. Mail was the biggest and included in those taboo cites was, of course, NN. Today all is normal. Whatever gremlins were inhabiting my computer seems to have disappeared. My apologies to the one or two people who might read my blog. I will endeavor to continue on. ~ | ||||||
