Friday, March 17, 2006, 7:48:49 AM- Should I leave one up?
Was vaguely kind of wondering if I should leave up one of the Hulk pics after the theme week is over... haven't quite gotten far enough into the idea to wonder which one.... I'll probably take them down.

Thursday, March 16, 2006, 11:16:08 AM- St. Patrick's Day theme week - PICS UP!

Yes, folks I actually submitted pics for the theme week... NOT exactly the sort of ones you'd expect, though, lol... smile

Yes, that is me, dressed as The Incredible Hulk. It was a Rocky Horror Picture Show performance - we did a "Superhero" theme night, with all the characters dressed as comicbook superheroes and villains. I played Rocky as the Hulk...
I don't bother to dress green on St. Patrick's Day...I got all the green I need inside. I'm second generation Irish-American - my father was born in Hell's Kitchen, NYC, the youngest of nine children and the only one born an American citizen. There were *seventeen* children total, but the rest died young or before they were born. My family's originally from County Cork.

Monday, March 13, 2006, 2:49:17 PM- I kinda thought she would... lol

I was wondering if Gracie was going to use that pic I sent her for her avatar....Kinda figured she would. For anybody who's liked Gracie's last few avatars, check out the works of an artist named Sorayama... Gracie and I share great taste in artwork. wink I love modifying his work - it's a joy and a challenge, both. The original Sorayama pic had brown hair instead of red, and although you'd never be able to see it in her profile pic, I also changed the color of the eyes to closer match Gracie's... Lol - It's kinda hard to see the heart tattoo on her ass, but I changed the words in it to read "Mad Jack"...smile

Thursday, March 9, 2006, 10:20:18 AM- Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were Here

A stained piece of paper, a half empty beer,
The lonely man sitting while sad music plays,
Wish you were here...

The sleepless nights, the half-waking dreams,
Too late we found out, it ain't what it seems...

The tired, torn letters, the drunken tirades,
The bottle keeps tipping, for a friend too long gone...
Damn it, just let the memories fade...

Seven years gone since you were here,
It's never the same, the blues, or the beer,
Wanting you madly, reaching out,
For the face in a dream..
Remembering sadly...

The darkened room, the neon lines,
Over now, left behind.
The same old song, the flat tasteless beer...
It's been too long,

Signed,

Wish You Were Here

Thursday, March 9, 2006, 10:10:37 AM- Refrain

Refrain

It was 1937.
I was an American in Morrocco.
Casablanca and the Cafe Americain it ain't.
Or was it Japan in the 1700's?
I never looked good in a kimono.
Havana, before Castro?
No, I never could habla, and I hate rum.
My tinhorn days in the Old West?
Never could shoot straight...

A coffee house in the city, 1995.
I don't drink coffee, can't even pronounce
pate fois gras. I mean, yeah,I'm sittin' in
a corner booth writing poetry, but even that
doesn't get you very far these days.

Before...? Yeah, back in the day,
all you needed was Miles on the speakers
and a coupla pens and you couldn't go wrong.
But nowadays it just ain't the same.
Singles bars, neo-pseudo-hipsters in retro
clothes and the latest attitudes, hanging it
all out for the ones that ain't even looking.
Not even among the Lost. No place like home,
cuz I don't remember what home feels like.
Ain't no place like home. Been everywhere else,
but the road only goes so far.

Time to find a place in the world, set my boots
down in the dust and make a stand, everybody got
to stand for something.
But I don't stand for much. Don't like nothing
that don't like me back. Just ain't my scene. Don't
know what is...

But that's why I go, why I come here, why I'm the
one writing this. It's something I do. Y'know?
