Happiness is a balanced checking account.
I'm proud of you, bozos. You're probably one of the few that still do that. smile

I haven't actually written a check in a few years, but it is nice to know exactly how much money I have in my various accounts.

I need to google venmo

I've been using it for 2 years, ju, without any glitches. It seems like everyone under 50 is using it. I like that it comes directly from my bank account.

Google tells me it is an American thing. We just use Interact e-transfers. Bank to bank.

Online bill payments, Paypal for many online purchases, Venmo and Zelle for paying people. I lke to keep track of eveything in my checking account register.

I thought it might be. Bank to bank works, too, as long as they don't charge you for it.

Our bank systems are very different. No charge for unlimited e-transfers for my account

I use Paypal a lot, bozos. Zelle has been problematic so I stopped using it.

We can do that here, ju, but it's more complicated. Venmo and Paypal are easier.

Yes, it is, ju. Banking is very country specific. It's pretty amazing that you can use your ATM card in most countries, though. No need to use a currency exchange.

Good point, Artie, although it's usually a percentage of the withdrawal with a certain minimum fee. I only use it once when I go abroad and mostly get cash in the supermarket, which is free.

Where do you get cash, ju, if you don't mind my asking.

Cash is used more here than in many other countries, but it's used less and less all the time. I always carry some just in case.

Mathematically speaking, negative numbers are still numbers…the bank doesn’t concur though.
