American TV comedy legend Ernie Kovacs. He did some truly innovative things in early TV. Percy Dovetonsils I enjoy a great deal. A very, umm, flamboyant poet, his poems are the things of legend... well, funny, anyway...

Found this on youtube. I knew he was involved, didn't realize it was the concept album before it became a stage production. This reenforces my belief that Ian Gillan is one of the top, if not THE top, rock vocalists of his time.

A nice mellow tune to cap off a very busy couple weeks at work. Much more lifting and lugging than I have done in some time. Rediscovered many muscles that did not want to be. In the words of Dr. Smith (Lost In Space) "Oh, the pain, the pain!"

It's a nasty reminder of:
1) My age
2) My physical condition
3) Did I mention my age? wink

This one has always relaxed me. Hope everyone's weekend was good...

From the Dixie Dregs. They were a Jazz Fusion band that added a touch of country. This is a particular favorite they performed live at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Great guitar vs violin tradeoff. Steve Morse is another one of my favorite guitarists. Give it a listen. You won't be disappointed.

The original Blues Brothers movie is one of my favorites. It's especially popular in the Chicago area, not sure how popular elsewhere. There are many fabulous quotes throughout the movie, but this clip shows just how tight John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd were.

This version by Gary Moore is absolutely beautiful. Guitar work is dripping with emotion, the string section is sweet and the Hammond organ laying background is perfect. A wonderful version of a very sweet blues tune.
