OMG........i had the most amazing day today! spent the night at my parents house last night, cuz i wanted to see ma dad and all... this morning, went to breakfast with my mom, dad, and sister. afterwards, was gonna go stop in my shop and check on things and go home, but lil sis seemed so disappointed, i asked her if she'd wanna go shopping with me, for an outfit for this wedding of dum's friend. she got uber excited, and offered to dye ma hair as well. so off we went. picked out an amazing dress, shoes to match, a shawl, and a bra that i could wear with it. then we went to get hair dye. me n her spent the mid-morning/afternoon dying each other's hair and giggling, talking, etc.....damn, i remember when she was literally a baby in ma arms.....and now she's 18.

left there and stopped in at work, every thing's fine (i'm an overprotective parent, damn you!) but i did find out some awesome news!!!!! my company pays an outside company to come in and do a health dept. kind of inspection. but they're 1000x more in depth than the health dept. and they've been told bout 6 months ago that they were being too lenient, and not to leave a dept. without finding something wrong.......

as i'm coming in, the auditer is leaving.....FUCK!!! there was NO manager today...OMG, if we get a bad score, i lose ma job....

he shakes my hand.....my store mgr *arch nemisis* shakes my hand. "congratulations, this is the first bakery i've EVER given a 100% to"

OMG HOLY SHIT HELL FUCKIN YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my mom just called, to let me know my dad's been in the hospital since yesterday. never mind calling me WHEN he goes in, she decides to wait until after the surgery. dad's got a bad bad bad heart. had 4 major heart attacks, 3 or 4 minor ones, and too many angina's to count. last year he went in for a triple bypass, the also put another shunt (?) in, he already had 2. two of the bypass' collapsed, which they expected. but his health improved by leaps and bounds. over the holidays, he started having chest pains again, and finally, yesterday he went in to the e.r. they had to cath him, as one of his shunts collapsed. there's no way to re-shunt a shunt, so they went in with their balloons to try to blow it back up. what should have been a 45 min operation, took over 2 1/2 hours, the entire time, my mom's in the waiting room freaking out. and still no phone call....

he's stable again, and they should be releasing him tonight or tomorrow. i was asked (by dad) not to visit, as it freaks him out, his daughters being there. i'm kinda ticked at my mom, for not calling me yesterday. she says she didn't want to worry me, which is nuts, since she spent all that time waiting for dad, freaking out with no one there with her. *sighs*

so i'm in the market for a new heart

anyone got any black market connections? i'll take a baboon heart too, he ain't picky, and anythings gotta be better than this....

****edit***** he's out of the hospital, and back to his smart ass self......called me and asked for rent. hahahahhaha ty all for your thoughts and concern. i just freak out when he's in the hospital. there's not many men in this world who would do as he's done. truly my ideal when it comes to what a man should be.

a new year, time for new "dummy" cakes, display cakes made from styrofoam and royal icing. i am in no way, shape, or form ready to tackle the wedding cake, but i did make the hunny and hubby bear cakes. promised i'd share em, and here they are

and the first one to make a dummy/kricket, aww how cute, when's the wedding etc. kinda crack, get's a nose and ear full of buttercreme icing!!!

while outside smoking during lunch today, i pulled out ma hairbrush and started to work on this mane of mine. one of the girls i was with asked if she could brush it for me....so i handed over the brush.
which reminded me of one of my regular customers when i was dancing....

this was the 2nd club i'd worked at. i was still doing only topless, hadn't yet done the fully monty

on a slow night, an older guy came in, and had the weirdest request. he wanted to brush my hair. nothing else, really, just talk and let him brush my hair. and he was willing to pay lap dance prices (at that time $30 a song). he said he'd also buy me whatever i wanted to drink. at first, all my lil new-found stripper red flags went up....FREAK ALERT!!! but like i said, it was slow, and he was paying, and never forget the 250lb tattooe'd dude in the corner who also happened to be one of my best friends. so i let him...

this became a regular thing. at least twice a month, sometimes more. he always came in on slow nights, was always polite, and we had amazingly interesting conversations. he'd usually brush my hair for about an hour. which to me meant between $300 and $400 dollars, for sitting on ma ass, drinking and discussing movies and books and music. all in all, a sweet deal.

after about 4 months of it, i asked him. why? why are you gonna blow THAT much money, to come in here and brush my hair? was it some sort of fetish? he stopped, mid-stroke, laid the brush down, and told me that his wife of 30 years had passed away less than a year ago. he said he'd always come into strip clubs, and she never minded. and he said some of their happiest times together, was when he would sit with her at night, brushing her hair and discussing their days....and he missed that.

....i was speechless...

i guess the question, as well as his confession had upset him, because he stopped coming in after that. he did send me a christmas card via the club, with $500 in it, and a small note saying thank you.

most of the men i met in those clubs were decent, some even better than that, but i think he was different..

yep.........25 days till i see my dummy again. i'll be flying up the 31st. his friend's getting married and we were invited. and if i don't see dum at least ONCE every two months, i start getting depressed. so we'll have 9 days together again. 9 days of hugs and kisses and....hrmmm... well, you know. AND we PROMISE to actually take pics this time. lots of them. hopefully after i leave this time, the next time we see eachother will be when he moves in with me......*sigh* getting to wake up next to him everyday, and not having to say goodbye...unless i'm going to work....

i go up on a thursday, but it's still a case of friday i'm in love.

so today, i got bored. and ya'll know what happens when i get bored at work.....

i thought it kicked ass, and others did to. so i priced it up, and put it out for sale...

and here comes mr. boss man, pain in the ass that he is.
*sneer* "what is that?" pointing to this bad ass confection i'd just created...

me: "well sir, that's a cake. two layers of fluffy vanilla cake covered with icing and decorated to sell." (no wonder he hates me)

him: "that's not the kind of cakes we make at *insert company name here*"

me: "i beg to differ, made a few of them at every store i've worked at, and they sell quite well"

him: "get it out of the case. either scrape it down and redecorate it, or buy it yourself. but that's not going to sell here."

so, i take it out of the case. all kinds of associates come over to check it out, one actually puts in an order for it for HER birthday next month. after mr. boss man leaves, another manager comes over and bets me $5 i won't put it back in the case. i figure what the hell, i'm here till we close, i'll put it in there, and at the end of the night take it back out.

NOT 20 minutes later...a lady walks past the cake case, stops, turns around, and peers intently into the case. i walk up and ask if i can help her with anything. she tells me her 13 year old's birthday is tomarrow....and how she ALWAYS makes her own cakes....but this one! this one is PERFECT!!! in a matter of seconds, i've written on it, handed it back, and a very happy customer leaves going on and on to someone on her cell phone about how she just STUMBLED upon the most FUN and PERFECT cake.

so EAT ME mr. boss man!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!

NO one has heard anything about promotions.......we think they're keeping them secret till the new store opens up in march, and with any luck........i won't be here by then, perhaps already promoted?!? dunno...... but there's plan in the works for me to move to georgia by mid march, early april. luckily there's a metric TON of stores up there for me to choose from, and it's highly likely ONE of them will need an asst or mgr.

so, everyone finds out soon (like today or tomarrow) if they're going to be promoted and if they are, to which store. i'm afraid i'm going to be promoted...and left at the store i'm at. which....if the store manager get's moved (pretty much certain, as he's already packed up his office) isn't so bad, other than it being deathly slow, and poor bonus'. but it'll be MY shop. and, like it or not, i did take the store manager's advise, and taken more of a leadership role lately. i let my crew know, THIS is the way it will be....and i'll accept nothing less. they've pretty much fallen right in line with it...only reverting back to their old ways when i'm not there, or when ma boss is....which i can understand. when she's there, we do things her way. not to say it's not the right way, just not the way upper mgmt wants it done.

the DM was in the store yesterday, working with the grocery manager about some displays he wants for superbowl weekend. he made it a point to find me and chit chat a lil bit, which is cracking me up. i've taken to speaking into the pen clipped on the collar of ma shirt when the store manager's around...."note to Mr. (insert DM's name)" just to get his goose.

it dosent matter if he approves of my promotion or not, i have 3 other store managers who are pulling for me, who know i'm good and ready.
