Sunday, October 20, 2013, 12:49:51 AM- :\
I think I might be getting sick. Or maybe just going to get my "visitor" early. Or I got my ass kicked as loaner help to the busiest store in the district today. Whatever it is, I'm beat up, and running a low grade fever.

So I got to take an hourish nap in Meanie's lap. Then when I woke up, really wanted something sweet. And I didn't want beer, or tea, or water. I also didn't want Meanie to have to get dressed to go to the store. *grump*

But he insisted. And I let him. I blame the crud I have. He returned, my knight in shining armor, with a triple chocolate creme pie, a bottle of apple flavored sparkling water, and a bag of my favorite candy bars.....I didn't know he paid that much attention.

I'll say it again, I'm spoiled as fuck. And oh, how I love that man. grin. Off to snuggle under some blankets next to my own personal human heater. It's only 72....but I'm freezing....

So we're watching TV, and this commercial comes on:

Meaniebutt was standing up next to the door, about to go get something. He says nothing, just turns around, and points directly at me.

.....I couldn't say anything, so just hung my head.....

Friday, October 18, 2013, 5:22:59 AM- Selling 101
Selling 101: Love your job, Love your product, and Love your customers.

I make it a point to spend as much time on the floor interacting with customers as I can. I LIKE helping people, I get a kick out of making a stranger happy, letting them go home saying, "WOW! I LOVE that place! That goofy chick in the bakery was spot on!". Hell, I even team up with other departments.... Me and one of the deli clerks today....oh lawd.... *giggles*

She started singing the Spongebob Squarepants theme song. None of her co-workers was helping her (answering back), so I did. We went through the whole thing, much to the amusement of customers in both the bakery and the deli. At the end of the song, we got applause, so we both bowed. I commented loudly, "All this and a floor show free! We're here everyday folks, try the cookies!"

I was walking back into the bakery after lunch today and another of the deli clerks was helping a customer, slicing some meat for her. He threw out the really bad line..."I hope this MEAT'S your expectations!" Grinned and said how he just loved saying that every time. The customer kinda polite laughed. I looked over and was like...."What?!?" He repeated his corny line... I fake belly laughed and said "Aaaaahahahahahaha! That's a Gouda one!!!" To which he, the customer, the rest of the deli crew, and most all of the other custos in line fell OUT laughing. Little things, people.

Selling 101: Love your job. Love your product. Love your customers, even the pain in the ass ones....

I won over a gent a few weeks ago. An older vet, stooped, grizzled, and ornery. One of my clerks pointed him out to me, saying how he was surly, mean, rude, and just an all around asshole. I decided to make him LOVE my bakery. So the next time I saw him, he walked up to the counter and wanted a loaf of bread sliced, commenting "Ya'll never EVER have this on the counter sliced. It's stupid." To which I replied..."Well darlin, how else was I going to get you up here and talking to me if I had it sliced already?"

....He was silent for a bit while I sliced his bread. Handing it back to him, I winked and asked him to come see me more often. He looked around and said "Just don't tell the wife...." and squeezed my hand as I handed him his bread. He now comes up and flirts EVERY time he's in...and makes sure his wife is on the other side of the store. *giggles* I've never met the lady, but my gent sure is a huge flirt! I love him to pieces, and he always asks me what else he should buy.....

Selling 101: Love your job. Love your product. Love your customers. The rest solves itself.

Thursday, October 17, 2013, 9:47:50 PM- Meanwhile...in the bakery...
I....ugh....seriously. I know what I'm asking for, and I know what I'm in for, wanting back into management... I'm ready for it. But I'm seriously about to give the same ultimatum I did 6 years ago when I told my District manager "Pay me like a manager or I'll stop acting as one".

Last time it happened in under a month. I am paid as an HOURLY associate. With an HOURLY associates bonuses. Yet I'm working as an assistant manager, getting it all done in 8 hours vs. 10......and STILL being paid as an hourly associate.

It's not even a question anymore, for my crew, the management staff, other STORES management staff, or any other associate in the store. If my manager isn't there....they come to me. Hell, even the District manager expects me to walk with him if my boss ain't there.

I'm ready. I know my shit. Upper management LOVES me....where the fuck is my promotion already?!?!?!

/rant over

Now it's time for me n Meaniebutt to go get some grub....I get to introduce him to Saki tonight!!!!!!!!! (*singsongs* someonessssssss gettingggggg laaaaaaaiiiiiiiidddddddd)

Wednesday, October 16, 2013, 6:38:41 AM- More mushy stuff...
I won't apologise. I'm not sorry that I blog so much about my Meaniebutt.

That's what happens when you're so happy, and content. At least, it's what I'll do.....

After being lost in a sea of non-contact, it's amazing and beautiful to me that he craves physical contact as much as I do. He touches me in the sweetest of ways.....a hand on my back, fingers stroking my face......

He makes me feel beautiful.....and strong. Always strong. I can do anything, conquer anything, so long as he is beside me....

I'm so damn proud of him, and the way he's dealing with all these amazingly huge changes in his life.....away from everyone and everything he knows, new job, new.....everything.

It's a brand new world for him, and I love him doubly because he's taking it all head on. I reap all the benefits....honestly.

Meanie....I'm so thankful you kept dreaming....

Monday, October 14, 2013, 1:32:41 AM- *grin*
It has NOT been a perfect day. Not even close. Not even a little bit. It was stupid busy at work today. I came in at 5am. Baked and set up and baked and UGH..... SO much product! I was actually ahead of the game, and got so much accomplished.

My crew makes me look good. They work just as hard as I do, because they know when the manager isn't around, all eyes are on me. I seriously hope the powers that be go along with my store manager's suggestion that I stay at this store. *fingers crossed*

I honestly don't know if I'd have been able to make it through the past 8 months without Meanie. I've never in my life had such support, such a cheerleader on my side. He refuses to let me back down, props me up when I'm exhausted. I'm so very lucky to have his love, his support, him. Just call me the luckiest woman on earth....

Sunday, October 13, 2013, 1:14:38 AM- Just an amalgamation.....
*I'm so tired. Five days into my 9 day week, and I'm about give out. Seriously.

*Fall is showing itself....slowly.... driving home with the windows down, the air crisp, woodsmoke in the air from people burning leaves and/or dead wood from the storms. I love it.

*Picking out my punkin carving for this year is a VERY important decision...I need it to be epic, awesome, detailed, challenging....I think I have it. I hope ya'll like it.

* My Meaniebutt forever impresses me, mostly with how supportive he always is. It's easier to bust my ass for 10-11 hours a day and come home to a little bit of pampering, or a willing ear, or just someone telling me throughout the day that I'm kicking ass...He is my dream come true.

*We'll be in our own place here in about another week or so, so please look forward to pics, and more of us around here. grin

Saturday, October 12, 2013, 2:04:13 AM- ....Can I?!?
Can I please?? Can I PLEASE take a deep breath? My GAWD it's been a fucking week....and I just looked. It HAS been a week since I blogged. Jeebus.

First off, Daddoo is alive and well. His surgery was Monday, and they didn't get his stint opened as they wanted to. Good news is they got it opened about 80%, so we're classifying it as a success. He's alive and breathing, so...yeah. TOTAL success. Thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers. heart

Meaniebutt made it down Saturday, with....*sighs* of course, issues. Anything worth having is worth fighting for. I was off Sunday and Monday. Which we pretty much spent either in the hospital with my parents or running around trying to get life to actually work WITH us rather than against us to get his Uhaul emptied into our storage unit....

Everything has it's way of working out. Especially with so much support from friends and family. Ya'll have been seriously keeping us motivated. We love and appreciate every text, e-mail, FB message, NN message or call. Thank you. heart

I'm scheduled to work 9 days before my next day off....and on my next day off we're looking to move into our own place. *deep breath* I really really really just want a lazy day, ya'll know me. Just a PJ wearing-TV watching, Not doing nothin, day.... looks like another week or two before that happens. But it'll be nice to be in our own place when I do..... totally worth it for the naked sleeping grin

*muwah*

Saturday, October 5, 2013, 1:09:22 AM- ....
It's been....an eventful few days. Got home from work yesterday to an empty house, which is kinda normal. My parents are super active with their church, so there's no telling what class they're taking or teaching, or what fundraiser they're heading up. Talk to my lover for a bit then decide to take a nap. Go to set my alarm and see a missed call and a text from my mom.

The text said she'd taken my Dadoo to the ER, he was having another heart attack. This makes.....what.....9, 10? So I call, then head up there. His pain had subsided, but they wanted to keep him overnight. Didn't have any beds in ICU, so transferred him to another hospital. I spent the remainder of the evening helping my mom make breakfast casseroles for some church thing in the AM. (Ya see what I mean?)

He had a cardiac cath this morning by some new hotshot Dr. On loan from some huge hospital somewhere. Dude wants to preform some new procedure oh Daddoo, that while risky, could mean the stint in his heart that's been collapsed for years would be reopened. If THAT works, in a few weeks, he wants to do an even NEWER procedure that is even riskier....but would open up a bypass that had collapsed and pump blood back into the part of his heart that's been "dead" for years.

Risky, but rewarding. If Daddoo goes ahead with it, and it's successful, he will, in theory, not have any more heart issues at all. We shall see.

Until then, I work tomorrow. Meaniebutt drives down and arrives tomorrow night. We spend our first tropical storm together, then he gets to hold my hand Monday as Daddoo goes under the knife.

I'm ready for nice and boring, please?
