Well not much to update on the job hunt coz not an awful lot is happening.
Still lots of messages and contacts being sent out and precious little coming back with anything like hints let alone interviews. Still quite a few people working on my behalf but things are slow and at times it is getting me down a bit

Ive decided to make an investment. Last week I sent my CV for off for "professional" review and it was severely panned. Of course this was the lead in for this compnay to offer to write me a brand new one and significant expense. Ive held off until now, but today I decided to take the plunge and invest the money.

Im being seen I think as a technical specialist and if openings are to presnt t themselves out of that niche, then I need to market myslef in a different way. To me that "justifies" money, time will tell whether it actually pays off.
Just 7 weeks now until the chapter here closes

The new job hunt continues, but not at a pace
I sure wasdnt expecting something to drop in my lap immediately, but despite sending out lots of contacts to agemncies friends, pro network etc, nothing much has come back. In a lot of cases people just havent come back to me

Got a sniff just over a week ago0 for back in blighty but nothing more since so I guess there was nothing really in it. So things have settled too easily the last few days so Im trying to stay positive

Wsant helped today when I was basically asked to contribute to my own leaving announcement. Seems there is embarassment to say Im going becuase they dont think there is anything for me to do, but as it is all signed sealed and delivered it might as well be said that I am indeed going rather than drag it out. The wording canm alweays be debated, but lets get it done so I can punlicise I am loooking even more

Arctic has arrived heer, so didnt venture out at the weekend. Blizzrads toiday, so all in all not overly fun times

well all settled now. My last day of employment will be Mar 31 so will be working out my notice until then, but let's just say it will be without the same level of enthusiasm and dedication that I used for the 5 years i was employed

I am getting a decent pay off and the offer of a move payment if the next job means relocation
So the meeting went as good as such meetings can go, but Im left feeling very deflated by the whole thing

Still to be kept under wraps for a while. I have toild a couple of people simply because they might be able to help with knwoledge about openings and in most cases they were very shocked

So maybe a glass (or 2) of wine tonight, then dust myslef off and get on with looking for the next step starts in earnest Monday

A day in the company of my superb friends Betsie and Farmnad tomorrow will I am sure work wonders

so Thursday my boss informed me that my team is going to be reassigned to someone else and that having searched high and low there is nothing concrete they csan find for me to do. So my best opportunity will reside outside the company menaing I have been asked to leave.
I will be offered a generous severance package but I really wasnt expecting this. Over the last many years I have been fortunate that any jobs changes I have made have been on my initiative not xxxxxx upon me but not on this occasion. I have plenty of time to find one, but I must find one and there is no certainty it will be in the same area. So leaving a place i really enjoy living and sellingup the wonderful hpouse i bought a few years ago are very distinct possibilities
Still mulling over the whys of all this but that doesnt really help any, it is going to happen whether i like it or not, just didnt really see it coming

Ok enough of my whining, CV update and send out time

Well Im back after my little jaunt to the East. Not overly glad to be back and back at work especially at the dark time of year, but as I said all good things come to an end.
Had a fab time, did lots (if maybe not quite as much as expected) and sure ate a lot. Been asked what the highlights were, there were so many, but I suppose being in cages with various ages of tiger (3 weeks up to 2 years) was one. I suspect though that they were likely sedated, otherwise how could they resist a feed the size of me.
The monkey place donw the road was not so nice, poor little guys chain by the necks for the paying public, didnt stay to watch that charade.
Part of the trip was to attend a wedding in Thailand and as for location and time of day for a wedding (sunset), then that was hard to beat
Went on a cookery course again, that is always fun, although my thai food all those years ago was actually better but still tatsty. Food out was so cheap as you might expect and still of very good quality.
had the obligatory suit made and bought so cheap cheap fake stuff, has to be done
Bougth some Vietnamese coffee beans, be intersteing to see how they go in my fancy coffee machine
Oh well duty calls, better blog off and do some work whilst still perving away
Good to be back to see my friends, I DID miss you a little

Best do this now whilst I get the chance.

WEll that is it from me for NN for a while. This time tomorrow, next storm permitting,I will be airport bound on mi jolly hollys. So no more NN for this year, so let me take the chance to wish all my friends a wonderful Christams and a Happy New year (seems odd doing that in early December but hey ho)

Will certainly miss you my friends but rest assured I will be back in early january to annoy and torment and geenrally just be in pain in the ass
