So the two days that I was dreading have arrived.
Yesterday I became officially out of work for the first time in my professional career.
Day went off pretty much without incident although my boss asked me to come back for some sort of goodbye because he had been too busy to arrange anything for yesterday, pfft what a shambles
I got a lift home from one of my colleagues, actually the guy who was given my direct reports from me.
I needed a ride home bacuse I had to give back my nice company car. All I could do when I got home was look outside and see ther space the car used to occupy. I shall miss my car but a few days relying on public transport wont kill me
So today is day 1 without a job. Woke up late for me and now have to begin to think what to do woith myslef each and every day until something new comes along. A large pile of ironing beckons for today
There are options I am working on, one here in DK one elsewhere in Europe and perhaps now I need to start using leverage of one against another to move things along a bit.
I am not the best person to sit at home all day, so these coming days wont pass by easy, but I will just get a grip and make the best of it.
Anyway enough rambling, back to perving and fake spotting, that should pass a lot of time

The job hunt continues to be a bit of a rollercoaster. 10 days ago things started to move, new possibilities even an interview. But then came the down slope, a call an hour before the interview calling it off and the inevtiable wait which the the recruiters referred me for the openings that came my way. Things picked up again yesterday, will be going to Brussels in just over a week to meet someone more for a chat about possibilities of joining rather than an actual job and another UK opportunity materialised.
As Ive said, many reasons why Id like to stay here, but gut feeling says my Scandinavian adventure will end after 11½ years.
Only 3 more weeks then I am really out of work, think that day might be quite tough

Well after seemingly weeks of nothing happening, just like spring time there are signs of things beginning to happen.

I now have an interview later this week here in DK. Only an hours first interview but a sign of interest. But more than that I have 5 calls this week with recruiters. One was today based of an application I placed in Germany, the second today resulted in a UK position that sounds interesting with a follow up later in the week. All early days but like buses, nothing happens for ages then it all comes along at once.
The irony of the Germany position is that I need to write a half page summary of my technical expertise and experience the very sort of stuff taken out of my CV update, oh well, you win some you lose some lol
So maybe a corner has been turned and things are heading bck to some normality
