Sunday, August 10, 2014, 1:50:24 AM- Exploration 1
Well i went out to do my first look around yesterday, essentially to look for des-res areas. Think at first go I found an area that I could happily live in. called Lakeside and as the name suggests right on the main lake on the island. Wonderful spot, lots of people fishing, plenty of long walks to be had or to cycle round. Sa.w a fair bit of wildlife culminating in an arm-length lizard meandering through the grass. Think it had seen the black squirrel i saw seconds later!
Along with the park area it is just condos, but two stops down the MRT line is a much more built up area with more condos but also 3 sizebale shopping malls, one very big. In each or close by were supermarkets, so the proximity to lakeside to me affords everything i would need. Also much closer to the office and would cut out some of the major areas of traffic congestion.
Given it is a des-res prices may be higher, but id rather pay more to live somewhere I like.
Sure was a hot one yesterday, 31C but with high humidity so I was a bit sticky.
had lunch in a well known local resturant. Did feel a burk sat there alone, espcially as i had to stand in line for a table for one!But it was worth it.
Exploration 2 is likely into the city. more familiar with there from previous visits, but never really have got my bearings; now I need to

Friday, August 1, 2014, 8:55:23 AM- And off we go
So the culmination of quite a hectic few weeks in one way or another arrives tomorrow.
Off i go to heathrow to catch the morning flight (one way) to Singapore. I arrive early Sunday morning, rest a bit and then start the new job Monday morning, think Ill be wrecked by the afternoon.
Reached out to get help with more permamnet housing once my first month is up, have checked in for the flight and bags are 95% packed, so i think i am as ready as I can be.
Temp changed wont be too much of an issue as its been quite warm here, but the humidity will surely hit me.
Possession hit the road (well ship) soon and will arrive hopefully to coincide with a housing switch.
Lots to sort out when i get there, confirmation of wrok permit, car (maybe), bank account etc etc, but one step at a time and Ill get there.
So NN for me might be at different times, days, more or less i dont know, but I shall be around to keep up with the wondefrul friends Ive made here

Monday, July 28, 2014, 9:06:36 AM- Time to say goodbye
we each get to those days in our lives where we lose someone close. We may expect it, we may plan for it, we may in some way be relieved that is in the end of some form of suffering, but it still hurts like hell.

dad you werent ever the most emotional person, but whether said, expressed or even hinted I knew you cared deeply for me, you were proud and supportive of all that I have done and achieved. We rarely had crossed words simply because you meant so much that i never wanted to disappoint or annoy you in any way.
You were and always will be a hero to me and no doubts you will keep on watching whatever I do with a keen eye and that slight look of disapproval should i be tempted to wander of the right path.
so it IS goodbye, but you will never be out of my heart of forgotten in anyway because you are still my dad and forever will be.

so many memories too numerous to mention, the bus rides all over the country, the tall stories of submarines in the desert (yes i believed you).
I saw that picture beside your bed of my graduation and you having to wear a suit and tie, that in itself showed the pride you had for me

You'll always will be in my thoughts dad, with so much love and, fondness and immense pride of what you have done for me in my life

Tuesday, July 15, 2014, 8:39:13 AM- all done and dusted and mopped too
So the danish adventure has ended.
Closed the door on the emptied house that has been my home over there for the last time. The house is for sale, the possesssion are on the road to the UK (via Paris, dont ask!) and I wont be going back to that house every again I would imagine.
Really sad day yesterday, sat on the wrong side of the plane to see the house as I took off but still felt a chapter was closing. Denmark didnt send me off at her best, it poured all day. Thankfully the bulk of the removals were packed satruday in good weather, only a few last things yesterday in the rain.
The removal guys did a superb job, kept em supplied with coffee and cold drinks and they even profitted of some meat and stuff that was going to be thrown out
So the Scandinavian adventure is done, on with the pith helmet and jungle kit to start the singapore part lol

Just promise me that they have internet access in Sing or you're not going!

Mwah!"
