I got a craving for BBQ. Sadly, no one will be able to satisfy my cravings. For over 30 years we had THE best BBQ I've ever had right here in my hometown. Ribs, chicken, even sausages. No frills - you got meat covered in BBQ sauce and a couple of pieces of bread in a foam container. The joint was well known, mainly because it was near the University. Sadly the owner retired and turned it over to his kids. The quality of food and sauce went downhill and they were shut down twice by the board of health before closing permanently. Where is my time machine when I need it???  | ||

There is a page on Facebook that I belong to. It is a forum for present and past citizens of my hometown to discuss past events in and around the town, usually with old photos. Today I saw a posting about a fish and chips shop that used to be here. That led to talk about another f&c shop that was here. It was part of a national chain: Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips. Some residents remember it being here, but not the location. Some residents don't remember it or swear it was never here. I, with my excellent memory remember it being here AND the location. I simply choose to stay out of the Great Fish Debate. I've had enough of fish for now. They can cast their lines, but I'm not biting. ~ | ||
