There's an old southern saying about being angry:

He (or she) was madder than an old wet hen.

tuesday was game four of the ALDS between the Red sox and the yankees. One more win for the Red Sox and they could advance to play the Houston Astros in the ALCS for the right to go to the World Series.

I planned ahead. Knowing I would ave to work that night, I set up my DVR to record the game. Iwould watch the game when I got home from work.

To keep the suspense going, I did not check for any scores from my phone or the radio. I was all set to watch the game. I turned on the tv, settled into my recliner, pulled up my recordings, and guess what? The game didn't record!

I was livid! My words for the next few minutes would have shamed a sailor just returning from a long stretch at sea. Finally calming down (somewhat), I decided I at least had to know the outcome. I turned the station over to the MLB (Major League Baseball) channel.
There, I found out that, although it was a harrowing ninth inning, the Red Sox had won.

There was relief, but still some anger remained.

Today, with a cooler head, I've thought back on the events. I have never had this problem before (technical wise), so I must have, in my rush) forgot to enter the command to record. Unless I can somehow invent a time machine, I'll never know... unless it hapens again.

I have gone from being an old wet hen to being cool as a cucumber.

I like being cool so much better.

Vitamins
Apple
Oatmeal
Raisins
Toast
Milk
Water

Weekends are for junk food and beer.

Game three of ALDS tonight. Red Sox at Yankees, best of 5 series tied at one game apiece.

Best rivalry in professional sports, especially during the playoffs.

Sorry. Unlike the masses who stare at their phones all day long, I only use mine to call people. One of the main reasons I bought a cell phone in the first place was to stop having my life interupted by annoying calls.

I work afternoons and my friends work days, so it all works out. I'm from that generation where you just drop by to visit. You don't have to call and make an appointment. If people have other company or are busy, we understand.

Life goes on either way.

On FB, my older friends and I have been talking about the lost art of a man being a gentleman. While almost all agree that lots of young men are being taught the right way to treat a woman, there appears to be an increasing amount who don't treat a woman properly.

Leading indicators seem to be boys being raised solely by mothers, through divorce or unwed to begin with. I personally don't blame the women. I know it's hard to work and maintain order at home. Young boys DO need men in their lives as role models though. Too many young men find it easier to just be a part time Dad.

Men - be there as much as possible. Years from now you'll regret it if you don't!

Odd, star-studded dream last night:

Riding on the back of my girlfriend's motorcycle while eating beans on toast and seeing Chandler and Monica (from the t.v. show 'Friends') drunk and silly.

That's what eating beef jerky and dark chocolate will do to your subconscience. Maybe I'll do it again.

October 1st is here. I love the fall season. The baseball playoffs and all of their drama is beginning. Football is starting to ramp up. The weather starts turning chilly, bringing out the natural splendor as the leaves change to brilliant colors. Hot cider, Halloween, even a new t.v. season.

I love the sights and sound of this season more than any other.

My favorite pro football team was ahead at the half. I can't watch them because of the NFL blackout rule, which says you can only broadcast the game of the local pro team. And the local team is losing.

Well, to me it's not really fotball season until the World Series of pro baseball is over. So I wil be watching the Red Sox and Yankees game instead.
