The grand old pastime in America... baseball. The rules have been tweaked over the years: Originally, a batter got four strikes and nine balls, and the pitchers threw underhanded (think fast pitch softball). The catcher stood about 10 feet behind home plate, probably because they, like everyone else, didn't wear a glove. The game has come a long way in the 180 years that they've been playing baseball and through it all there have been some great moments. Sometimes I wonder, like Adam Sandler has here, if they weren't making it up as they went along. lol. :  | ||

The good news: After receiving 3 inches of rain the last couple of days, We had a respite today... sunshine enough to soak up some of the standing water. I actually could walk to the mailbox without wearing boots! The bad news: More rain predicted for the next four days. I'm thinking of starting on a big boat and gathering animals. | ||||||

I actually saw this on the local weather Friday. We had rain all day Thursday, some of it rather hard rain. When I turned on the local news today, I was astounded. Most of the state here received rain, from 3 tenths to a little over 1 inch. My town only received 2 and a quarter inches. Was God upset with us here for some reason? ? | ||||||

It was terrible to see the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral. People have been criticizing the rich for pledging $6 billion dollars to fix the damage. I think along the lines now as I did when the govt. had the bailout here. If all of that money were dispersed to the needy, think of how much better everyone would be. ~ | ||
