Something that will really try your patience: Getting stuck behind a little old lady in an aisle at the grocery store. Snails move faster than her. ~

Any time you eat spicy food, it inevitably winds up passing through you. The burning sensation you feel as it does is proof that the anus has a sense of taste. ~

I think Ricky Gervais is a funny guy. From his time on the far superior English version of 'The Office' onward, this guy always make me laugh. I rewatched this jewel last night: Ricky talks to dead people! ![]()

Found out an old friend was paralyzed when a disc hemorrhaged in his neck. Luckily, he was operated on and is on the road to recovery... no more paralysis. Life keeps on throwing you curveballs, just when you got used to the heater. ~

I learned a long time ago (in my baseball playing days) that you can't live and die for every game played by your team, no matter what the sport. It's like life: You win some, you lose some. Sometimes you get on a winning streak, sometimes you go on a losing streak. Sometimes it's your year. Sometimes it's not. Know the difference. Don't blame your losses on someone else. You don't blame your wins on someone else, do you? Savor your wins and learn from your losses. Life goes on no matter what happens. Keep your chin up and keep pluggin' away. ~

All of the headlines seem to be bad news. I get it... bad news draws attention. If a newspaper or news channel or web site put out nothing but good news, would anyone pay attention? ?

After three years of living Hell, my wife left me for another man. After another year, she finally filed for a divorce. The very day I was served with the divorce papers, I went out to celebrate and met an angel. We talked for hours and then made love until the morning light crept through the window. Was it the romantic night together or the fact that I had found someone capable of returning my pent up, long ignored passion? Yes, I fell for her hard. I went full bore with the expressions of my affection: Flowers, poetry, gifts. Looking back now over 30 years later, I can see the desperation of a lonely man clinging to hopes of love. Had I but slowed my advances and given her time instead of overwhelming her, things between us might have worked out. At the time, I thought this song was about her and her unwillingness to commit to me. Now I know that it was me who xxxxxx her into an island of seclusion. Hindsight is often 20/20, but foresight is foggy at best.
