Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

Well, it rained last night and a cold front pushed through with blessed cool Canadian air. I turned off the window fans and the ceiling fans. This is the quietest it's been here in quite a while. I'm loving it! ![]()

| Sunday, July 21, 2019, 6:00:57 PM- Relief! | ||
After this last heat wave, it sometimes seemed as though relief would never get here. Sometime around 4p.m. today, rain will get here in front of a cool down. Like a sailor who's been out to see for months, then finally gets into port... I feel relief a comin'. ![]()

We put a man on the moon in under 8 years. Just think how much we could accomplish if only we could that much brain power to the world's problems today. ~

Saturday is the 50th anniversary of man walking on the moon. Seven years before that, this is what I saw on the silver screen: Sure, it's not reality, but it really amped up a 12 year old boy's imagination. ~

Which dream is worse: My old neighborhood has completely changed physically and my sister (who is the straightest-laced person I've ever known) is stumbling around drunk while I try to maneuver first on a bicycle, then a wheelchair and finally walking to get to my parent's house so that I can get my car and get the Hell out of there. or The government has two insane ideas about how to launch a rocket to the moon and I have to decide which is best. ?

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, highs here are expected to be in the mid to upper 90s, with heat indexes approaching 110 degrees. I just thought I'd post this now, in case my computer decides to melt. ![]()

That's the nickname my hometown has had for years. Criminals used to hide out here back in the 1930s. John Dillinger even had an apartment close to downtown. In the last few months, my town has been in the news again for criminal activity. The FBI has arrested politicians for graft. It's not really new here. We once had a Mayor serving out his term of office while in prison, then he was re-elected after he got out. Another case of what goes around comes around. ~

I have been unfriended today by a woman I've known for almost 40 years. We had a brief dalliance when we first met and then I met her sister. Her sister and I hit it off right away. I almost married her. There are no hard feelings and we chat occasionally on FB. The first woman made a comment on FB today about the NYC blackout yesterday that lasted in one area for five hours. She was comparing this new one to the blackout of all NYC in 1977. I told her she was overreacting. She didn't like it, called me rude and insensitive, then unfriended me. Gee, how will I sleep, knowing this little girl from a small town in Kentucky who once aspired to be an actress and now is a diva of the arts in Nashville, Tennessee doesn't want to be my friend any more? I'll sleep just fine, thank you. If only we could rid ourselves of those highly dramatic people so easily. ~
