Can You remember where you were?
I can....... I was airborne on a flight to Malta.
Didnt know that anything had happened until later that day, was sitting next to a nice cool swimming pool in Malta when a man came round and told us to go inside the holiday complex and watch the TV. I was stunned as to what happened and could not comprehend it. People were crying everywhere and not just on the television. Mobile phones were not able to get through to anywhere, landlines could not get through to family and loved ones it was pandemonium. Nobody could get a flight out of Malta to return to there homeland - all flights were grounded.
I am English by birth, my roots are there, my children and mother live there, but, I live in the USA and I have to say that the whole world mourned on that fateful day for those that were needlessly killed or should i say murdered?
I dont care what colour, race or religion anyone is!
All I want and 99% of the world wants is peace, as human beings we have the ability to accomplish this, but do we???

Good Grief - is it really that long since I last blogged (crikey, Time certainly flies when you are having fun).
Well a fair amount has been happening in our neck of the woods (so to speak).
First and foremost is the fact that Rocky and I are going to be moving apartment. We are going to a bigger apartment (from 460 square feet to 950 square feet - and 2 bedrooms and 1 and 1/2 bathrooms, apartment is equipped with a dishwasher aswell - not just ourselves - lol). All this AND a balcony (hmmmmm - can't wait for them dark nights and being naked on the balcony - and much more i expect

... ) And we shall be still in the same area just a few miles away from where we are now!
We are really excited about this and the wait to move is taking its time - lol another 3 1/2 weeks yet.
Just letting you all know in advance incase you miss us in the chatrooms or status updates (we should be so lucky for you to miss us - lol) xoxoxox

Just thought you may like to know the latest.

After some much waited for news.......

Just got a call from the doctors........Some good news and some not so good news.......I havent got Diabetes and my Cholesterol is good and so is my Thyroid good and behaving itself .......

Now they want me to see a Neurologist cos they still cant say if i have MS or not just that i have an Inflammatory Disease that needs to be looked into further ......So much for medical advancements huh!!!(And a Neurologist is gonna be MEGA bucks - so that aint gonna happen)

So after speaking with my doc on the phone i now have to keep at what i am doing (staying healthy and fit and eating properly, excersising. keeping my brain active etc etc etc) apparently it is of a help.

I have to have my thyroid (blood test) checked again in 6 months and unless my doc calls or if I get worse - I dont really need to see her for at least a year.

Will keep you informed if anything else happens - lol - Fingers crossed that thats not gonna happen.

Well Hello people's

I'm doing ok, but we are still waiting for the results of the Lumbar Puncture procedure.
However we have had some of the medical bills come in, The Hospital Financial Services told us that they come to $8,345.00 and that does NOT include the surgeons fee's. They did give us an option to pay within 30 days and we would get a 50% discount. Whoopee ........Now we just need to win the Lottery to pay for it.
So travelling to the UK for my Mums 80th Birthday in August is now out of the question, Rocky hasnt even met her yet!
I also had blood tests last week to check on my Thyroid and also to check my Cholesterol and for Diabetes ...... So another wait ...... my God I am glad I have a little patience. Why do things take so damn long???
I am trying to keep my cool and sense of humour in amongst all this and Rocky is certainly MY Rock, and I Love Him Dearly.

Hello to all our NN friends.

Well it has been quite a hectic week so-far.
I had My Lumbar Puncture on Friday as planned (Friday 25th June)- the procedure itself was a walk in the park and went really well, I was taken very good care of by the nursing staff and Rocky .

Later that evening i was having headaches and discomfort in my lower back (where the needles went and the spinal fluid was taken). The hospital nursing staff phoned me the next day (Saturday) and asked how i was doing, when i told them that i had headaches they told me to up my fluid intake - which i did (they would phone me again the following day - Sunday). The headaches were begining to get unbearable and the only way i could relief was to lay flat then they dissapeared - as soon as i sat up they came back within seconds. The nursing staff phoned me the next day and by then my headaches were kind of coming and going - i really thought they had gone for good at one point - then BANG - back it came with vigor!
On a scale of 1-10 they were at a 6-7. Anyway arrangements were made for me to go back into the hospital on Monday 28th June, by this time they were a 20 on the 1-10 scale and getting really unbearable - i had spent the last 3 days laying down - and that is so boring.
I had a SPINAL HEADACHE (7-23% of people get hese after a lumbar puncture) meaning a leak of spinal fluid inside my body. On Monday morning i was back in the nursing suite, then i had a blood patch (lumbar block) procedure. This calls for a kind of repeat procedure that i had done on the Friday - The doctor puts needles in your back to numb the pain both on the skin area and deeper inside to numb the muscular area that surrounds the spine. Then with only a hairs width to work in he injects my own blood to search and find the leak that had occured, the blood finds and fills the leak and then the bodies own antibodies come and find the blood (cos its not supposed to be there) and cleans it up and by doing this it forms a scab over the leak and blocks anything from getting in or escaping. Very clever how your body works.
Within 10-15 minutes of this procedure my headaches had gone - Thank Goodness. I was discharged from the hospital and told to take it easy over the next 24-48hrs. I can sit up and do some stuff now that i couldnt have done a few days ago, I still have a little discomfort in my lower back but that will last about a week or so (nothing to complain about). I still have to drink plenty of fluids for a while (but im always drinking water anyway so thats not too hard to do). I still have difficulty in stretching and bending so i go careful. We wont know the results of the actual Lumbar Puncture till the end of this week i expect - they said 3-4 days.
We shall let you know what they say - so fingers crossed everyone - No News is Good News .

Well I thiought I would let you all know that my Lumbar Puncture is scheduled for Friday 25th June @ 7.30am (mdt), when we get the results from that i do not know but after us and family i expect you will be the next to know.
