When making Ice wine the grape berries are crushed in -8 celcius or colder temperatures. The grapes cannot be picked off the vines until it's that temp or colder. The cold temperatures bring out the swe
sweetness in the berry.Late harvest is when the grapes are harvested after the first frost regardless of temperature thus not as sweet. I have tasted raw ice wine juice fresh off the press and it was
but late harvest is still sweet, not as sweet by the sound of ice wine, which for me personally, would be sickly sweet and not to my taste.... altho, I dont mind a small dessert wine occasionally
mrsU really likes a Pink Sparkling Wine named Amor di Vino which she orders from the Saraceni Vineyard in Italy. She also really likes their Blumond which a Blue Sparkling Wine.
Yes I believe Australia produces ice wine as well as some European countries but Canada has the best growing and weather conditions of anywhere in the world.
Awesome knowledge sharing Lovexxx! I've always known late harvest as making dry/ semi dry white wines sweeter but these don't use the ice-wine making method. I actually didn't know that existed.
i will continue i have beeen asked to try expensive and very famous wines that tasted to me like really bad fruit juice my current favorite is a sparkeling white from spain from my local supermarket
