A great, relaxing week ended yesterday in floods of tears. The kids dad decided he was going out last night so brought them back a day early (never mind that I was actually planning to go out last night too!) I had to spend the next 3 hours trying to calm them down from the floods of tears they were in.

The ******* (there isn't really a word to describe him or what he has done to them this time!) upset them more than he ever has before.

My youngest said to him "Dad, you don't love us!"

He replied, "Yes, you are right! I don't!"

Then corrected himself by saying, "Actually, No you are wrong! It's only you that I don't love!"

When he saw how upset they both were he changed his attitude to an only kidding one.

Why the hell would anybody never mind a father say that to kids?
I went out looking for him last night but he had done a dissappearing act. Probably just as well cause I would probably be sitting in a jail cell right now if I had found him!

I was due for an appointment with the gynaecologist later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am.

I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45 am.

The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare. As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pyjamas, wet the washcloth
that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in 'that area' to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some
clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.

I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some
other place a million miles away. I was a little surprised when the doctor said, 'My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?'

I didn't respond.

After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal ... did some shopping, cleaning, cooking, etc. After school when my 8 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, 'Mummy, where's my washcloth?'

I told her to get another one from the cupboard. She replied, 'No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it
had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it!!

Well I have more or less recovered now from a great weekend, just a few bruises left over and a big dent in my bank balance to show for it!!

I go on holiday on Saturday for a week of mayhem with my b/f and the kids so that should be fun.

I will look in again a couple of times before I go but I won't have much time to get back into chat yet, so you all behave yourselves and hopefully I will get back in one piece and catch up with everybody when I get back.......

1. TENT - Yes, you'll need one of these, they come in many shapes and sizes and degrees of putting-up-difficulty. Failing that you may be able to make some kind of deal to share somebody else's tent!

2. SLEEPING BAG - It fits nicely into a tent as you fit snuggly into it's shiny, sheath-like surround. Buy one with a zip or buy two and zip them together!

3. WELLIES - Or a big, hard pair of boots. Avoid trench-foot, stay dry-toed, and perhaps snap up some really funky festival ones.

4. TOILET ROLL - Do not assume toilets will be regularly restocked, as most don't even stock in the first place. Take lots and keep it on you.

5. TICKETS and WALLET/PURSE - If you forget to bring this, then you may as well forget all the above, unless you own a camper van and fancy ram-raiding your way in.

6. RUCKSACK - They are handy for carrrying all your stuff to the festival and if you are like me, everybody elses stuff too.

7. PANTS and SOCKS - These have a habit of getting wet, smelly, lost, or stuffed down toilets fairly regularly, so stock up unless you are comfortable wearing none.

8. SUNCREAM - Listen to Rage Against The Machine's 'Bomb Track' before you go ('Burn, burn, yes you're gonna burn') should remind you to slap it on.

9. TROUSERS - Just one spare pair is necessary for emergencies, but you'll probably spend the entire weekend in the same ones and not care.

10. TORCH - It gets dark out in the middle of nowhere - and you probably get drunk. Very useful for navigating your way tentwards without tripping over guy ropes.

11. WET WIPES - Great for keeping clean, waking you up in the morning, and generally keeping disease from spreading all over your face or other parts.

12. JUMPER - One mammoth fleecy xxxxx of a body warmer, plus a few lighter numbers. You'll fluctuate in warmth throughout the weekend so good to have various layer combinations.

13. MOBILE PHONE - It may work on site, it may not, but good to have all the same. Stay in contact with your friends or find them again when you lose them all and make new ones by collecting numbers from nice people.

14. TOILETRIES - Keep your breath, armpits, and other bodily parts fresh and clean with a range of products, including toothpaste, deodrant and soap.

15. HAT - Conquer dodgy wake-up hair by covering it with a hat. Experiment with degress of wackiness, practicality, and style. I always buy a new festival hat every year!! Or try dabbling in a wig.

16. SUNGLASSES - Ensure you can still see by the end of the weekend by wearing shades to protect from harmful rays. Remove intermitently to avoid panda eye, which one of my friends didn't do last year and they are still being slagged off for it!

My kids are driving me nuts already, we have only just reached half way through week one, only 7 and a half weeks left to go. I woke this morning to a full scale fight ON MY FREAKING BED!!! I mean, cummon kids, you have the whole house to have a fight in why the hell would my bed (with me sleeping in it) possibly seem like the best place??? I don't know why but I thought it was kind of sweet in a way, I usually would have been really pissed at them for that but I just kept thinking in a few years time I am going to miss this kind of thing!!

Anyway, I'm off to meet a friend I haven't seen in ages for lunch today so I should go get ready now.

It's been a while since I updated my blog so I thought it was maybe time to do it!

Part of the reason I have been so quiet lately is because of some of the mad stuff I've had going on, I can't say anything about it (for my own reasons) I really wish I could share it all but that just can't happen!

Anyway tonight I watched my daughter's dancing show and was so proud and impressed by her and the rest of the kids that put together an awesome show. It really does surprise me every time I see her do something I didn't know she could do....I felt like the proudest parent there although I'm sure every parent watching felt the same way.

The bad news is that my comp went tits-up and I have lost every pic, every tune and lots of other stuff that I had stored on it....but I suppose it aint the end of the world really.....It just feels like it!!

OOOhhhh well...never mind

hope everybody is doing well and still having fun....

Ohh yeah..and I can't get into chat......GRRRRRRRRRRR

Was a great weekend!!

Lots of fun....lots of family....lots of laughter...friends, alcohol (probably too much AGAIN) happy kids, plans for the summer, working to pay for it all!!! Life is GREAT!!!
