Am I the only person who thinks the song 'Imagine' by John Lennon is plugging Communism? Lennon himself said that the lyrics were from the Communist Manifesto. It's still a good song and proves that if you sugar coat something, it sells. ~ | ||

Girls I dated in high school, the love of my life and most of the ladies I've known since are all like that. The one mistake I made was marrying a blonde. Everywhere I've ever worked, there's always been one person I had to avoid. Not because I don't like them... just the opposite. Whenever I run into this person, I wind up talking too much because we have similar interests. Not good in the workplace for me, because I wind up falling behind on my daily tasks. Of course, if I get everything done required of me, I can't find them anywhere. ~ | ||

So I met my old chum for lunch Monday. afterwards, we went back to my place and sat around talking for about 3 1/2 hours. We caught up on the past and talked about where we are in our lives at the moment. Then we told what we want for the future for ourselves. I drove my friend to his daughter's house and dropped him off. This guy and I shared so much of our formative years, when everything was fresh and new in the world to us. Do you know one simple way that you can tell someone is your friend for life? When you see each other, whether it's been days, months or years... it's like you've never stopped seeing them at all. I take great comfort in the fact that I'm lucky enough to have even one friend like that in my life. ~ | ||||||

Last night I said something to my cousin on FB that came out as inappropriate. I apologized, but still feel bad about it... I mean, that's family. Today I received a message from one of my oldest friends. He's coming to town for a few days and wants to get together sometime. I really needed something like that to pick me up after the debacle of Saturday. One door closes and another opens... or something like that. It will be good to see my old buddy and have a good chat. See? Don't focus on the negative when something positive is just around the corner. ~ | ||||||
