Sunday is usually the day when I gas up the car for the coming week and then go home to laze around, watching movies or sports until I feel like cooking Sunday dinner.

This year I have no work until two days after Christmas.

Damn, I'm lucky!

I'll probably gain ten pounds and waddle back to work on Thursday.

Funny dream last night: Prison inmates breakout... on an island.

I awoke laughing.

Christmas shopping is done. Christmas cards mailed out. Christmas dinner food purchased at the local grocer for Tuesday's upcoming feast.

Now that I have only one more day (today) to work before having five days off, I'm actually in the mood for Christmas.

Let the holiday commence... I'm ready!

Last night I dreamed of a woman I used to work with, Wonder Woman and Mila Kunis (I was watching one of her movies earlier that evening).

I'm glad my dreams have returned to a somewhat normalcy.

It's been two weeks. I really thought I had it licked. Dreams of other women... some famous, some not. I rarely have a dream about a woman where sex is involved. It's generally either conversation or maybe a little kissing.

But last night... BAM! She's back again. The love of my life. Nothing provocative, just walking across the college campus where we spent so much time together.

To paraphrase the Godfather: Just when I thought I was out, she pulls me back in.

A few days ago I wrote about a near school shooting that was stopped because someone called 911 in time. There was a confrontation, shots exchanged and then the student with the gun killed himself. I stated that easy access to firearms and bad decision making leads to loss of life. One comment was left: "guns don't kill, people do."

I'm not going to get into the whole anti or pro gun debate. I've owned guns and was taught at an early age how to fire them, maintain them and most importantly respect them. That wasn't my point.

A potentially large event was cut short because someone cared enough to report what was going to happen. Yes, it's sad that someone lost their life, but weighed against possibly many lives, that's a number I can accept.

My point is that people need to stop treating firearms as a solution to personal problems, especially youngsters who are confused or feel slighted. If you need help, ask for help. Killing is not the answer.

This whole attitude of "I'm right and you're wrong" needs to be changed. We need to get along, from our politicians down to the (like me) common joe just trying to live their life.

I know it's cliche', but peace and love, not hate is the answer. If nothing else, just try to be a little nicer to those you contact every day. The ripple effects of kindness will astound you.

Another attempted school shooting in Richmond, Indiana this morning.

A student called 911. State police were waiting at the school and after a brief exchange of gunfire, the student killed himself.

The frontal lobe of the brain is not fully developed in people until age 25.

Easy access to firearms plus bad decision making results in loss of life.
