My new cargo pants arrived. One pair is khaki, one is camo. I washed them and tried them on. A little snug. I wear a 33 waist, but got a 32 because they only come in even sizes and I figured a 34 would be too loose. I have lost some weight and have been working out, so this must be an incentive to work at it harder, right? ~ | ||

A farmer is talking to his little boy at the kitchen table. The little boy asks him what he does for fun. The man says to come with him and the little boy follows him outside. The man, in his overalls and scuffed boots, walks out past the barn to a small shed out back. Inside, we see a studio, filled with paintings - some finished, others partially done. The little boy looks around wide eyed and asks: "Did you do all this Daddy?" The man smiles and says: "Yes, son, it helps me relax and sometimes keeps me sane." That was when I woke up. ~ | ||

... a little. I tried to log on here yesterday and the powers that be wouldn't let me. I tried my correct, up to date password. No go. I tried two others, still no go. Finally, admitting defeat, I hit the button to send me my password... and I was told my email was not valid. Okay, this is when one normally decides to let a few swear words hit the air. But, having been on the internet for around twenty years, I realize that sometimes the gremlins get in your way and you have to accept things and try another time. Today is another time and everything worked perfectly. See? Life goes on. ~ | ||||||

... eventually. Andrew Luck has retired from the Indianapolis Colts, citing health reasons. Colts fans were looking forward to a good season this year, but without their All Star quarterback, that season now looks iffy. Living in Indiana, the news has been all over the local media since last night. I am not a Colts fan, but I respect Andrew's decision. I wonder how this news will affect ticket sales. As always, life will go on. ~ | ||||||

The Red Sox won their suspended game from August 7th today in 12 minutes. Some people might get pissed that the resumption of the game only lasted 12 minutes. BUT Tickets were $5.00 for adults, with all money going to charity (the Jimmy Fund, for cancer patients) and all concessions were $1.00. Seeing as how everyone shows up for a game early, I think it was a win-win situation. | ||
