Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

My neighbor two doors down has had his electricity turned off for non payment. The only reason I know is because the notice was lying on the floor in the hallway and I just picked it up to see what it was. He works. His girlfriend works. Next to the water bill, it is very cheap. I'm not going to interfere in his affairs, I just find it perplexing, that's all. ~

The security guard where I work is an institution. He was working there long before I started. He lost both of his parents and his wife while we worked together. He lost a kidney. He became a diabetic. Through it all, he worked hard, never missing a day and covering for others who didn't show up... that's a lot of double shifts, once or twice a triple shift. What was his reward? Monday night at work, while on his rounds, he suffered a heart attack. In true form, he didn't want to leave the job and go to the hospital. He has always been a dependable guy. A nice guy that everyone likes. He is in my thoughts and prayers. ~

offense is a good defense. Or is it the other way around? I suppose it depends on how you look at things. My team has good defense, but if you can't score, the best you can hope for is a 0-0 tie, and I've never seen or heard of a team tying every game. Hopefully, the offense will catch up. ~

I have worked most of my life at jobs on the second shift. Going in to work when everyone else is going home is not a new thing for me. I've always liked it... stay up late, sleep in late, every day. My Dad was a musician, so I was always used to the different hours. When I worked for GM in one of their factories on second shift (3pm to 11:30pm) for 3 plus years, I never went to bed before daylight, which is really hard to do in the winter. lol This song reminds me of that time: Yes, I have been accused on more than one occasion of being a vampire. ![]()

I found a meatloaf at the grocery that only needs to be heated in the microwave 3 to 4 minutes. I'm making potato cakes for the first time to go with it. Dinner will either be delicious or a disaster. Take out pizza on standby! ???

Trains around here have been stopping and blocking major roads for sometimes up to an hour. Train officials say they will 'look into it.' A major artery to get to the airport in our state capitol (about 60 miles from my town) is closed for repairs. Better leave four hours early to get there on time since you now have to drive through town to get there. Even though laws have been passed to try (yeah, good luck enforcing it) and stop people from talking on cell phones, people continue to do so every day. The way some people are distracted, you are taking your life in your hands just driving across town. Especially where traffic lights are concerned. Stop the madness! ![]()
