Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

Olivia de Havilland and Regis Philbin have passed in the last couple of days. The old saying is that bad news travels in threes. Who might be next? ~

Baseball is back. No fans in the stands and it's kind of hoaky how the owners are putting card board cutouts in seats, plus pumping sound of a crowd during action. But the game is still being played the same and that's good enough for me. I watch most games on the tube anyway. ~

Some of these 'naysayers' keep asking if you know someone who has died from Covid-19. Sometime today or tomorrow I will be saying yes, my Aunt in Florida. This Aunt called me once a week for months after my Mother (her sister) died to make sure I was doing okay. She was the only relative besides my sister who cared enough for me to do that. Worse, I can't go visit because she's in a nursing home in Florida. No more interesting stories about my late parents when they were all growing up. No more updates on my cousins and their families. I will miss her warmth and sense of humor. Sometimes life kicks you in the teeth. ![]()

"I saw the news today, oh boy, about a lucky man who made the grade." - The Beatles Local news today reported good news on the Covid-19 virus front. A vaccine has been tested on a sample group of 45 healthy people (ages 18-55) and now larger testing on a group of 1,000 set to begin. Fingers (and toes!) are definitely crossed. ~

| Saturday, July 18, 2020, 11:38:21 PM- Walmart update | ||
I shopped at Walmart today. I thought it might be interesting to see how many people would defy Walmart's new mask policy. Obviously, at least at the store in my town, people without a mask are not being stopped from entering the store. By my estimate, about a third of the shoppers were walking around mask-less. My unscientific findings and a dollar will probably get you a cup of coffee. ~

Robert Redford was 48 when this film was released in 1984. His playing skills are admirable in the movie, perhaps because a fellow high school classmate was future Dodger star Don Drysdale. ~
