During the Covid-19 pandemic, people are getting their 'fix' for fast food satisfied through delivery.

McDonald's, Burger King, Arby's and Taco Bell are doing it here, as I have witnessed from seeing deliveries made to my downstairs neighbors.

Pizza joints have been doing it for years.

Here in Indiana, we have a pizza chain that started in 1956: Pizza King.

I've had pizza all over the country, it's a common experience Americans share everywhere.

I know every part of the country has their own style, which makes trying them so delightful.

I was raised on Pizza King and it is still my favorite. People who have grown up here, or gone to college here (coming from other states) and have moved away still talk about Pizza King.

In fact, you can have them frozen and shipped anywhere. An old schoolmate who lives in Hawaii now recently had some delivered to him and still raves about it.

I'm lucky I can still either pick up the phone or drive over to one of the 14 locations around here and get one.

As they've advertised for years, it's a "one of a kind pizza".

I hope someday you'll get to try one, too.

52 years later and it's still the same:

Today seems to be a waiting day.

When you've been so busy that by the time you get home you finally realize you haven't eaten all day, what do you fix fast?

Frozen pizza and pop tarts.

My back tightened up on me at work last night.

I thought, okay, let me make it home to my recliner and before bed I'll take a couple of Tylenol and sleep.

Guess what?

Out of Tylenol.

It was a very rough night trying to sleep.

First stop today?

Pain meds!

Sometimes

a simple cuppa joe can make everything seem better.

The closer I get to retirement, the more difficult it is to keep from quitting early.

I have to keep telling myself that all of my financial goals have not been met yet and that it would be a mistake down the line to cut out early.

My main focus is on the day when I can walk out the door and not look back.

I'm telling myself to be patient,

which is like telling a circling buzzard not to kill something.

Wait, wait, wait is my mantra.

Every day I take a breath and carry on.

Last night I dreamed a woman was found frozen solid. When she was thawed out she was alive!

I think maybe I've been watching too many sci-fi movies/t.v. shows lately.

I can never stress this enough:

I have a deep hatred of Mondays.

The only saving grace today is that the Red Sox are playing a day game today and I'll be able to see a few innings before heading off to work.

Retirement is on the horizon and looking better all the time.

Maybe then I'll mellow into just disliking Mondays.
