Found this on Youtube today. The majority of the throws are from right fielders. Having a cannon for an arm kinda goes with the territory. Some great throws... and they didn't even include outstanding outfielders like Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle or Roberto Clemente. I played right field a lot growing up. I had a good arm and I loved to surprise people with how hard a little guy like me could throw. ~ | ||

I like Stephen King. I own and have read almost every book he's written. In the next couple of weeks I will be caught up on his books out now and in September I'll be ready to read his latest novel when it comes out. Satisfying times ahead! | ||

When people still wrote letters, sometimes one would receive a breakup letter in the mail - what we called a 'Dear John' letter. This song speaks to that pain of getting bad news: I suppose the same thing occurs today, albeit from an email or a text. Bad news never changes, though. ~ | ||

One of the parts of my daily routine is to sit down with a cup of coffee and read the newspaper. Yes, I'm old school - I still have a newspaper delivered daily. I almost gave it up a month ago, in favor of reading it online, but they made me a good offer to keep it for another year, so my routine hasn't been interrupted yet. The last part I read is the comics, or 'funnies'. I've long held the belief that it's better to have a smile on your face when you're through than not have one as you go about your day. The letters to the editor are often funnier, but the comics have a better feel for the pulse of current events.... with a wry smile. ~ | ||

The NBA Finals is set to start this Thursday. This year it will be the Golden State Warriors vs the Boston Celtics. The L.A. Lakers and Boston Celtics are tied for most championships at 17 apiece. L.A. has won 17 times, but have lost 15 times in the Finals, while Boston has won 17 times and lost 4 times. Boston is 9-3 against the Lakers in the Finals. The Warriors have won 5 championships. 1 in Philadelphia and 4 in California. The Celtics and Warriors have met once before in the Finals, with Boston winning 4 games to 1.
