Yesterday I saw an Angel. I was walking down the stairs where I live and saw a vision of beauty approaching the front door to my building. A quick step later I opened the door with a smile to admit her. She smiled, thanked me and walked past me and started up the stairs I had just descended. For the briefest of seconds, the fantasy rushed through my mind that she would turn and ask me why I was waiting. Then she walked to my neighbor's door and was admitted. Hey - even and old guy like me can still dream, right?  | ||

I called customer service today to cancel my local newspaper. The price is going up to over $80.00 a month, which is too much. Well, the man I talked to gave me an offer I couldn't refuse - $24.00 a month for the next year. Like Michael Corleone said in 'The Godfather Part III': "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in." Hey - they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. What else could I do? | ||

I was supposed to have Good Friday off from work. I was informed that because around 15 people are working in 2 out of 3 buildings (none in my building) of the 270 plus employees, I have to come in. The last time this happened (ironically on Good Friday), I was in and out in under 1 hour. A waste of both my time and the bosses time. Another reason (of many) why, when I decide to retire this year I will not be giving notice. I just won't show up... and not feel one iota bad about it. ~ | ||||||
