Is salvation socialism?

With all the recent hype here in the US surrounding the "Tea Party" type resistance to socialism (health care, bailouts, stimulus, etc), and that group's noticeable "christian" dominated demographic, it occurred to me that salvation in most religions seems to be a socialist ideal.

Pretty much any of the dudes in the sky have to grant salvation (or at least favors), especially Yahweh. Just working hard and being a good person doesn't get you free health care for eternity, it has to be awarded by the "President".

If you pay extra taxes without complaint, and let the man in charge divvy up the loot, eventually he'll take care of you.

Didn't Jesus feed a shitload of folks with a couple fish and free breadsticks from Olive Garden?

Salvation is the free gift of God lest any should boast. God loves us all, no matter who or what we are (even me). Salvation is God's free gift to any who will receive it. "For God so loved the world that God gave God's only Son(Jesus) that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." Of course, then God allowed government to exist to keep seaxun and humpers under control !

But that's not about salvation... that's about the Kingdom of Heaven being at hand. And it's like veebs said... it was given freely vs. taken. Although to be fair, the one guy who didn't share got struck dead. So, yeah... I guess it's a fair comparison hahahaha.
