The Cost Of Lighting UP....

Shocking Prices for a Cig.

Now over 50 Pence each in The UK

So many still smoke them, but I know how hard it is to give them up as I did.. I hope that it's possible to do so for the many who still smoke...

And the prices...
sure aren't ever going to go down.

Sin taxes are a complicated issue if you ask me. As another ex-cig smoker (I don't say I don't smoke as I switched to vaping) and member of the recovery community for other stuff, price almost never deters addicts...they just find ways to adjust their life to afford their addiction.

It becomes such a regressive tax that ends up with society preying upon those already addicted. Maybe what I support is some kind of waiver system included where info from doctors proving that they are long term cig addicts gives them relief from some of the taxes thus still trying to prevent new users while not being so predatory? Plus it gets the addicts to admit they are addicts? I know, it makes it complicated but the system as is...not so good IMO...

What are people going to do when cigs get so expensive that nobody can afford to buy them? All budgets are based on tax revenue to support their agenda. Without cig taxes, they will have to find another source for social programs. Be thankful people still smoke them because your healthy water may be the next target of over taxation.
