It had nothing to do with my hair, my looks or what I was wearing but rather to do with being a mom. My daughter and I were talking today and she told me I was a sister to her and not a mom....now anyone who knows me knows I am firm but kind and very much an alpha by nature. I never want to be a sister to her. I always want to be the mom.....sometimes she will love me.....sometimes she will hate me but today.....I knew exactly what she meant and it made me proud of what and who I am - a MOM. Don Quixote was a White Knight as was Joan of Arc, the Lone Ranger and Crusader Rabbit. As a White Knight you expect nothing in return for your good deeds. To give, is its own reward and as a White Knight you seek no other. On the positive side you are merciful, sympathetic, helpful, giving and heroic. This morning while I was making lunches for the kids to take to school I had taken a box off the top shelf of the pantry cupboard. Little did I know that the box not only contained what I was after but also was the home of a BIG SPIDER....!!! I found this out as I felt something tickle the back of my arm. I flicked him off (god knows where), screamed (like only I can) and ran down the hall stripping my clothes off cause I was sure he was still on me. After a million shakes and finally a change of clothes and a hair brushing I went back to the kitchen to seek him out for his death sentence. Never did find him..... So fellas....who knew all it takes to get me naked and screaming.....a silly spider. TG (wearing big boots and carrying an ever bigger stick) xx | ||||

I am taking tomorrow off work to go up north and view the damage so I can call in an insurance adjuster. A good friend of mine has agreed to come along and bring his chain saw cause apparently I am going to need one to even get in the front door. Anything that needs replaced or repaired will be done through my insurance so I guess I can't get too uptight. It just puts a close to the season a month early. | ||||

.....it appears a tornado might have touched down at the cottage this weekend. Luckily I wasn't there!! I decided last minute to stay home cause the weather forcast was not great and I already spent a night there in the midst of a terrible electrical/wind storm and it scared the crap out of me!!!! I received a call early this morning from a neighbour and from what I can gather a tree is down on my deck and my screen room is ripped off and resting in the creek behind the cottage. I am waiting to get up there but some roads are still closed and although I have 4WD I think I will wait till they are opened and legal - just in case!! My neighbours that called found their gazabo across the road in a tree. Apparently muskoka chairs are everywhere.......LOL! I guess you kinda have to laugh.....the other thing to do would be cry. Laughing for now.....TG x | ||||

........(HEAD MASSAGE)!!!!!!! OMG he had huge hands....but the touch of an angel. I am going to have to make a point of booking myself into the salon more regularly. Ohhhhhhh the way he worked the shampoo into my scalp.......still has me panting. TG.....blown dry....but still in a lather *giggles* | ||||

Its supposed to be a great weekend up north and its that time of year when you never know what you are going to get for weather. October is fast approaching and it is then that the cottage will be closed until Spring. In light of all of this I am blowing off the wedding reception I was supposed to attend on Sunday and going to the cottage. Gonna take back my outfit, shoes, etc. but still taking this afternoon off to get pampered at the hair salon. Don't worry VB I won't let them cut too much off LOL!!! You might find me kicking around chat later on tonight..not leaving till tomorrow am as my daughters have an interview booked for an upcoming TV show. ........for always being there to give me that "pick me up" when I need it the most and the "pat on the back" too. We have been friends now for a few years. Maybe even 4 yrs (I am guessing).
