Hi,

It truly breaks my heart to pass this news on to you all but sadly 3 weeks ago Wetshubby passed away.

I sent a pm just last night as I was concerned about him and this is the reply I received:

hi hun just letting you know wets passed away 3 weeks ago could you please let all the gang know and i would like to thank you all for being there for him love mrs wets xxxxxxx

I am sure all our love, huggs, support go out to all his loved ones especially Mrs Wets.....

RIP Wetsie - never was a fight fought harder........ boootie shake to you my luff xxxxxxxxxx

2010 has certainly been the ‘year of change’ – I don’t think there is one person I know who is not having some kind of personal ‘challenge’ some really positive and some very tragic.

2010 started with Mum being diagnosed with terminal cancer – up to 18months they said.

3 months into 2010 I lost Pooch, that really was traumatic and I have missed his company dreadfully every day since.

8 months into 2010 Mum lost her battle with cancer, that was almost 2 weeks ago now and I cannot put into words how things have been up to and since her passing. I really am numb.

One thing that has been consistent in 2010 is the overwhelming love and support I have received from friends (read between the lines for family lol) – not a day has gone by without one of my friends looking out for me, I consider myself truly blessed with them.

NN really is a community, for those who ‘bah’ at being able to make true friends online I can testify it’s true.

Heartfelt thanks to:

Juicy – ‘My Rock’, you have seen me through some rough ole times eh? Soul Friends do exist.
JL – For keeping me smiling and ‘being there’

2K - For keeping me hugged
7Par – For the random natters
Serdar – Such a wise head on such young shoulders, I don’t think you visit NN anymore but hopefully you’ll pick up your email and you might see this xx
Raggy Arse – lol, for such a name he really is a fantastic guy –thanks for your continued support and giggles, always looking out for me when times are not so great for you either
Walter67 – A true knack for sending friendship emails at times of need, and for keeping me laughing with the rotten jokes!
Airboy – Quietly there, as if stood behind me with one hand on my shoulder. Never intrusive but always concerned for my welfare – you should have a million girlfriend’s lol
Vibeboy – A great support with our natters in ‘chat’
~Smoke~ - yeah I know – ~Smoke~! For all your banter and bravado etc in chat you really do have a heart of gold
It’s – Not seen you about much but every time I have you have looked out for me

To all my other NN friends, you have helped keep me sane! I purposefully did not spill this information out across everywhere as I really needed NN Chat to be my ‘fun place’, somewhere I could pop in and have a laugh and joke and escape all the madness that was going on in the ‘real world’ - let’s keep it that way

I am renowned as a slow n safe driver; I’m confident on the roads but slow. I love to watch fast cars and bikes on the tracks etc but am not keen on flying about on our over-crowded roads – I’d probably die of fright in JL’s car

In my 27-odd years of driving, I’ve never had a speeding notice, parking fine – any kind of motor related ‘hooo-harrrr’. I’ve always been quite proud of that. Now, before you all rush to polish my halo, guess what I have: A Notice of Impending Prosecution

yeah, the fooker arrived in the post yesterday – made my day!!!

I kinda know where it was (I was not on a ‘familiar route’

, I definitely know where I was going and that I was there about that time of day, I can’t for the life of me remember a speed camera or a ‘flash’, plus I’d have laid a tenner on it being a 40 zone...... ho-hum, it got me, zapped square on the speedo – 39 mph, in a 30.

So, I have to reply saying, ‘YES, OK it was ME driving’, (nerdy nerdy, yeah, yeah, you caught me fair n square) – stick 3 points on my driving licence and fine me £60 odd squids, blemish my treasured ‘clean’ license see if I bloody care!!!

Am I bitter about this? – Me?? Nah

/me off to speak to JL for advise on ‘getting over’ speeding fines

So, my friend is out of hospital – I truly thank the NHS folk for what can only be described as ‘miracles’ that they perform. ‘We’ bitch about them often, however, the chips were seriously down for this friend and now some 4 weeks later the ‘game of life’ is definitely back on! There are definitely other challenges to hurdle but I think the stride is back in the step to face these full on

I have been unwell myself, ‘man flu’, yes - I don’t get the ‘common cold’ I definitely am an honorary member of the ‘man flu club’ the club sure embraced me this last week despite following all the club rules: Moan and complain persistently about how unwell you are; Blow your nose at least 1,000 times a day and whinge profusely about the red raw skin that used to be between your nose and mouth but has now merged into one; Cough like a hacking 80 yr old man and refuse to admit that smoking really does not help; Take every medication available and swear on your heart that ‘hot toddies’ (hot whisky) really will not affect the medication nor does it cause the hallucinations; when all else fails curl up in a ball in your duvet, sweat like a pig and refuse to move until the ambulance arrives!

I guess in comparison to my friends experience mine really is paltry... BUT I’VE BEEN ILL!!!

On a funnier note, in the middle of this ‘man flu’ I had an interview to attend. I had been using balsam tissues and a ‘lip salve’ in the hope of preventing or at worse clearing the above mentioned ‘nose and mouth merging into one routine’ – I was bemused by the extreme redness of the lining of my lips and my lip/nose merger. A few days into ‘man flu’, I checked the little tub of ‘salve’ .... Yes, in my haste for something to ‘cure’ me I had grabbed a ‘strawberry’.........
Lip Gloss!!! Oh my I looked pretty for my interview and must have smelt like a dream!!!

Now I have a quandary, if I am offered the job do I need to wonder about their sanity and logic for wanting someone who arrived with a head similar to that of ‘the elephant man?’ Along with a voice that could have been matched by any respectable transvestite / 0898 operator? Or, if I am rejected for the job, do I even bother to ask for feedback as to why I was not successful

The TIME?

If you are a friend and you need me – ‘Yes I have got the time’, no matter what my circumstance at the ‘time’ I will find the time for you (I might ask you to wait a few minutes but I’ll be there), I will look after you as best I can. Remember, I will be your honest friend, you might not necessarily like what I have to say but that is why you asked me

That is why I am disappointed by a few friends, I heard a long time ago ‘Do not judge other people by your own expectations/standards as you are bound to be disappointed’. That is true, however, I refuse to change how I am, I am willing to be disappointed by the few and I will hold onto my own standards.

I have a good friend in hospital at the moment, a grumpy ole bugger but much loved amongst the ‘circle of friends’ for exactly that reason! I have text, emailed, phoned the ‘circle of friends’ and tried to get some interest in visiting him, tried to make a ‘rota’ of visiting...…. that is easy to do with the internet access we all have, it would take some pressure off his family and give them some time to do the ‘normal’ things they also need to do...I’ve not even heard reasons, let alone excuses, I’ve heard nothing.

I wonder if any of the ‘circle of friends’ have thought about how they might feel.... if they happened to be in hospital, with crap food, crap company (mine and his family excepted of course!!) and crap to deal with, would they want their friends to pop in and show moral support at least? Hell they would!

I guess this is true to any aspect of friends.....’You are not really a friend if you have not got the time to be there or at least the time to explain why you are not there’

It really does not take a lot of TIME to text, email, phone ...... just be a friend and explain your reason? It might just make the world of difference to someone!

Really need attention that bad?

I have seen some attention seeking in my time... real life and computer life, I don’t know about others but I, personally, find craving attention (a.k.a. ‘needy’

very unattractive.

There are those who really could do with their friends help and never ask, beg or nag – their friends just know that they need them and are there unobtrusively in one way shape or form, that is what happens when you truly know someone and recognise the signs (even though they may appear to be the life and the soul of the party, you can see through it) you are there for them....

.....Then there are those who go every which way to find someone to sympathise to them, pay them attention, be their ‘need stick’ and I am truly amazed by some who seem to fall for it.....however, I am sure that most of those will at some stage see through the ‘need stick’ and 'abandon ship'

Be careful what you seek, you just might find it!!!
