I am speechless. The Daily Mail is truly the most pointless newspaper ever grin

Thursday, October 30, 2008, 7:20:25 PM- Today
Am running out of time off now (such an optimist as ever) but have planned to meet up with a couple of colleagues for drinks and gossip tomorrow to break me back into the madhouse of work. They are great fun so we'll have a good laugh.

Some of you will be pleased to know that I did manage to watch about 15 mins of Jeremy [Vile] Kyle today, but am afraid that was about all of it. If I only had another 6 months off I might be able to work towards watching a whole show. As soon they get a lie detector machine out to make a paternity decision or when a woman and her daughter come out who have less than 15 teeth counted together, my hands starts to reach for the remote to switch it off. It's not even a consious decision, it's like my hand is possessed or something!

Anyway Jeremy didn't seem too vile today though he is a but shouty and I'm not very good at shouty people. I played Sims 2 again instead - saddo that I am, and watched the recorded last bit of World Series baseball with Mr McB. I don't understand baseball but it seemed exciting! (he was jumping around the living room like a madman) He was very happy with the outcome, Philly boy that he is.

Wanna go to Philly and have a cheese steak now though! Am starving! No cooking for me tonight either - am awaiting a takeaway pizza! (a poor substitute for a cheese steak but it'll have to do)

Cx

PS Thanks to those of you who said that Mr McB is also lucky - you are very kind! And astute! ;P x

Had a much better day today. No money paid out, no annoying calls to make. I even managed to avoid seeing Jeremy Kyle!

I actually spent all day playing Sims2 lol. How sad am I eh? Was good fun but my eyes are now square with all the monitor staring.

I forget how pleasurable it is to be at home. How people can be bored I do not know. I have so much I want to do this week and so little time to do it!

I realise when I am on leave how much work sometimes impinges on my homelife/downtime. The people I work with generally don't have partners or kids and absolutely live to work. I have Mr McB who is worth more than any of it. He is a very patient man and I am very lucky smile

Tuesday, October 28, 2008, 12:37:38 PM- Grrrrrrrrrr
I am angry today, angry at a certain company and angry at myself for getting rid of something useful! I am so stupid sometimes and so trusting.

Over a year ago I terminated a mobile phone properly, by letter, sent recorded delivery.

Today I do a credit reference search only to find that the account was never terminated as they didn't actually get the letter apparently. I no longer have the recorded delivery slip - moved house since then, had a clear out etc.

Clutching at every available straw and negotiating wildly, I have had to pay £600 today for a service I've not really used for over a year. I have phoned the company 4 times today and my bank once to make sure it all went through ok. After speaking to 3 fairly helpful and one very helpful person, they have finally terminated the contract.

The only saving grace is that it didn't go to debt agency, courts process etc and I can settle and hopefully get it off my credit record asap.

What a right royal pain in the arse! Just as I thought I was doing well to have £600 in my savings and I managed to pay a balance off an old credit card yesterday too! I was so pleased with myself! ("pride comes etc.."wink

It could have been a lot more if I hadn't by chance signed up to Experian and checked my score. Gotta count your lucky stars sometimes I guess.

sad

As I said yesterday, I was cooking - though actually only managed the Beef Stew and then Raspberry Clafoutis for dessert. Though I was going to let the stew stand overnight, Mr McB decided he had to have some for dinner, not chilli. The aroma was too much for him! We ate half of it so may have the other half tonight - if I do say so myself, it was lovely.

Am enjoying my first day off this week, though have lots to do - like watch TV - be it celebrities selling antiques for charity, sick animals or Quincy MD (I cannot help but marvel at his ability to shout at poor Sam and pick up women to take to his mate's bar or his boat).

Seriously, I have promised to help a colleague later today and prepare him mentally for an important interview (that's what I am good at). He's coming around later on so I'd better clean up a bit... but Quincy is now shouting and it is so interesting....

"Mmm gonna eat the rest of the stew now actually :) Onion, I dunno, but he did very well! Maybe he used the "trust me I'm a doctor" line on them. I'm not sure how comfortable I would be with him touching me when he has his hands on so many dead people lol. x"

Sunday, October 26, 2008, 10:58:24 AM- Cooking Day
Am having a cooking day today. I have the week ahead off work and will be catching up on normal things I like to do, like reading, painting and cooking! I don't get much time to do any of these things unfortunately so it's good to take some time out to do what I like to do.

My beef stew is in the oven and I can smell it cooking. It's for tomorrow though - always best to leave it stand overnight and congeal (in the nicest sense!). Going to cook beef chilli for today.

Well I remembered to put my clocks back an hour but my brain is still really confused! I want lunch but it's a bit early!

Mr McB like all good Americans is watching the recording of the World Series, especially meaningful for him as he's from near Philly. I'm not sure what the score is or how far through the game is - I haven't got a clue about many British sports, let alone American sports so probably wouldn't understand anyway lol!

Saturday, October 25, 2008, 3:40:06 PM- Hellooo
I am so rubbish lately. I've been working a lot, online less and for the last week was on hols in Spain.

I hadn't really been to mainland Spain before and it's very nice. Full of other British people though and we could watch BBC1 and eat chips, which is a bit weird, but still nice ;P

I am just generally used to going to places where people don't speak English and the culture is very different. It's odd not to be miming everything in the universal language of finger waggling and eating weird looking, unknown foodstuffs.

On the plus side you can buy Milka chocolate in Spain. I bloody love it and we don't seem to sell it here any more so it is a real treat.

Hope all of you sexy people are well and doing ok. Anyone off to the NN social meet in London on 14 November? We are seriously thinking about it if there is going to be a good crowd of folk there.

Hasta la vista babies!

Cx smile

Blimey it's been an age since I wrote here. I have flitted here from time to time just to see if everyone is still alive but I haven't really visited for any length of time lately.

I am busy and tired, but even when busy and tired I tend to find some time during the week to absorb myself in NN. Maybe I just needed a bit of a break away. Weird huh?

Not sure I am back regular posting as yet either. Just thought I'd pop in smile

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 5:12:36 PM- Train nutter
I must remember when listening to things like the clip below, on my Ipod, on the train, in public, that I have very small headphones and lots of hair to cover them. I look like a nutter if I smile too much or even worse... guffaw with laughter lol! (which I did today because of Eddie Izzard) D'oh!

PS I have had one of those shitty weeks again when I haven't had a chance to read or comment on blogs all that much. Hope you are all still about and doing ok! Catch you in blogland soon! x smile

Sunday, August 17, 2008, 8:38:55 AM- Ouch
I have finally got over my hangover. I went out on Friday night for my nice meal, which was very civilised but oh god, for some reaon the old alcohol really affected me. I have a vague recollection of being really tired (trance-like I think!)and getting a taxi but can't remember getting home. I couldn't have been that bad at the time as I managed to open and lock doors. I did however fall asleep on the sofa and had to rush to be sick in my sink!

Mr McB heard my loud vomming, got up, helped me to bed, gave me a bowl and cleaned up (now that's love!)

I spent all of yesterday feeling very fragile. I was still being sick until lunchtime (I think I was a teenager the last time I was that ill lol!). We were supposed to go out with friends yesterday night but luckily they cancelled!

I just can't believe I have no memory of getting in - it's been years since I lost time like that! Oh well lets go visit my mum (in the squall-like weather conditions) and pick up some junk food to eat - I'm starvin! smile
