Friday, September 16, 2011, 3:09:09 AM- That Is What A Hippie Is
…see the whole thing is a world full of rucksack wanderers, Dharma Bums refusing to subscribe to the general demand that they consume production and therefore have to work for the privilege of consuming, all that crap they didn’t really want anyway such as refrigerators, TV sets, cars, …all of them imprisoned in a system of work, produce, consume, work, produce, consume, I see a vision of a great rucksack revolution thousands or even millions of young Americans wandering around with rucksacks, going up to mountains to pray, making children laugh and old men glad, making young girls happy and old girls happier, all of ‘em Zen Lunatics who go about writing poems that happen to appear in their heads for no reason and also by being kind and also by strange unexpected acts keep giving visions of eternal freedom to everybody and to all living creatures.
Jack Kerouac (The Dharma Bums) 1958

Monday, September 12, 2011, 9:17:23 PM- A Mystery
There is divergence among mystical mathematicians about whether women are even or odd numbers. We must take all things into account when seeking a resolution to this enigma.

For example, all humans are born of women and thus women are the source; consequently they can be seen as 1. Alternatively, the divine is 1 and the source of all things.

Males are more dependent than woman and in constant need of assistance from them. They can therefore be seen as the number 2. A man requires a woman to bring a child into the world, thus women are number 3. Extending this line of reasoning, women are odd numbers and men even.

This is only an effort to think aloud and perhaps get some reasonable feedback or alternative suggestions.

Wednesday, September 7, 2011, 12:14:52 AM- Mysticism and Mathematics
The beginning of the journey is the infinite because all journeys are infinite. Our nature is such that we long to comprehend the infinite and this leads to a quest that can only be accomplished via a mystical epistemology and metaphysics. It is not coincidence that, for example, the great mathematician Pythagoras was a mystic and believed that numbers have mystical powers. Furthermore, mathematicians seek perfect and immutable truth. Such truth can only be found in a Higher Power.

Let's consider Pythagoras. All educated people, even those who are not mathematicians, are aware of his importance in the history of ideas. What few know is that he formed a religion. For him, mathematics was ecstatic revelation; deeply profound and mystical apprehension.

Or, consider music, something employed in religion and numerous meditative and mystical rituals and ceremonies. Music is mathematical. Without mathematics, there would be no music.

So we have started our journey and we must follow the path, even not knowing its end; or whether, indeed, if there is an end.

Tuesday, September 6, 2011, 6:15:14 AM- Mathematics and Nature
It is quite clear that mathematics can explain nature. From what we have discussed thus far, one example is the Fibonacci Sequence. There are others.

What are the theological ramifications of mathematics and nature? Does that mean that God is, in fact, a mathematician? That is the direction we are heading.

Friday, September 2, 2011, 5:48:15 AM- Is God a Mathematician?
Yes, in this sense. To understand the infinite that constitutes the divine and to comprehend the nothingness from which it came, is to know Reality and to know God.

Great teachers have known this. Fools don't believe them.

Sunday, August 28, 2011, 12:13:35 AM- Your Special Number
The Numbers

“Numbers are the Universal language offered by the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth.” -St. Augustine of Hippo,

What do numbers mean?

0: Everything/Nothing

1: A new beginning, seed planting, time of planning and action, leadership, standing tall, independence, goal setting, Masculine

2: Communication, cooperation, relationships, sensitivity, groups, working together, soul mates, Feminine

3: Creativity, self-expression, social, sing, dance, drama, three-is-a-crowd

4: Hard work, persistence, attaining goals through slow and steady progress, determination, stubborn, rigid

5: Change, travel, go with the flow, expressive, creative, surprise, unexpected, be careful of overindulgence

6: Service, community, family, home, mother/father, good with children, naturally balanced, healer, health focus

7: Soul searching, spiritual attunement, research, the Hermit, solitary, lost in thought

8: Business and enterprise, monetary concerns, Karma, respect, recognition, advancement, harvest

9: The highest degree of change, loss and letting go, empty your cup to make room, for the new, humanitarian, counselor, service to the whole, giving of self

10: Completion, Back to the Beginning (1), Perfection, Wholeness

Master Numbers: These are especially powerful numbers:

11: Spiritual focus, pursuits and growth, heightened sensitivity (and empathy) towards others, the number of the psychic, other worldly events, intense dreams

22: The Master Builder, having everything you need to complete a monumental task, building a grand foundation, spiritual determination

Special Numbers: These numbers relate to karma:

13: Persistence and Perseverance are required to move forward

14: You are building on a cracked foundation, go back to the drawing board and alter your plans, you have been rushing

16: Relative to the Tower card in Tarot, your world crumbles, the Fall of the Ego as with the Tower of Babel, A Spiritual Test/Lesson

19: Fierce Independence is required of you, or you are too proud to accept help—Take help when it is offered, but be sure you complete the task at hand on your own

23: To break apart, reshuffling the deck, change of course, multiple opportunities arise, difficult choices, crumbling of foundation

What to do: Reduce your number in this manner. Consider 18. 1 + 8 = 9. Therefore, 9 is my number. See above for the meaning of 9. If you don't know your number, ask me and I will give you one.

Friday, August 26, 2011, 10:59:49 PM- Yes, God is Geometry Too
Geometry, coeternal with God and shining in the divine Mind, gave God the pattern... by which he laid out the world so that it might be best and most beautiful and finally most like the Creator.

Quote from "Astrology in Kepler's Cosmology" by Judith V. Field, in Astrology, Science, and Society: Historical Essays (1987)
