Yesterday the POTUS met with the "Obstructionist Party" (GOP) leadership at the Renaissance Hotel, downtown at lunchtime, in my burg! The municipal powers that be announced that there would be street closures (that encompassed my job site) from 11 AM until 2 PM.

Well, I strolled to lunch at around 12:30, sat and had an outstanding Maryland crab cake platter (with cold slaw and tater salad and a draft beer) while listening to his speech - lunch lasting about 45 minutes.

When I came out of the restaurant, there were groups of people on each corner, approximately 50 to 75 at each and police officers in the streets as well. Temperature, a cold 30 degrees outside!

When I got up to the corner across from my building, I understood from bystanders, that nobody was allowed to cross any of the streets until the POTUS' motorcade went by! I said, "He's still talking!" (collective groan from the crowd)

I walked up the block and into a Subway fast food to wait this cluster-fuck out!

Another 45 minutes and a police car's flashing lights indicated that the Prez was probably en route! When back to the corner and another 20 minute wait, at which time I tried to talk a panhandler into running across the street to divert the police so that we all could make dash across the street! (Laughter fro all in earshot)

Finally, the president's motorcade cruises by and there he was, the POTUS, waving, as we all cheered, just like the now 100 or so people at each corner! A great moment!!!

However, the next time I see a massed crowd lining the streets to greet a dignitary the event will be forever corrupted in my mind by the fact that they are there because the police guaranteed the huge turnout by forbidding anyone for crossing the street!!!

Democracy,... ain't it a blast!!!

Well, Pixie's and my son and daughter-in-law have just become the proud parents of a 7 lb 7 oz baby boy - Joshua!!!

This makes 11 grands and 1 great-granddaughter!

We have so many grandchildren that I've quit calling them by name, instead giving them Borg designations!

Joshua is "Eleven-of-Eleven"!!!

WOW!!!

What a great night we shared with Princess and Pohbare! First off, the smiley faces was Princess' idea and we found her to be just as clever and refreshing, in person, and in the forums!

Especially when we picked them up from their hotel and she bluted out: "DAMN, I was expecting Klingons!" That, set the pace for the evening!!!

Pooh, on the other hand, is just one laid back dude with a great smile as well!!!

Dinner was great at the Waterfront Hotel in Fell's Point. Shot some pics of Princess and Poohbare in front of the building where "Homicide: Life in the City" was filmed,...

Then, it was off to the Cat's-Eye Pub, where things got wild!!!

BTW, the mantra in the Cat's-Eye is "What happens here, is talked about all week"!

Great evening, great friendships cemented and more meets in store!

Oh, and the fellas in the Cat forgot the blues band was playing while I was orchestrating a what eventually became a not-so-subtle upskirt shot of Pixie and Princess!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! Great peeps, y'all.

Thursday, June 11, 2009, 10:28:35 AM- This evening should be a BLAST!!!

It all started on the Forum! Now, this evening, Pixie and I have the distinct pleasure of hosting His_princess & Her_poohbare for a romp through our city!

We plan on talking them to Fell's Point, which is a rustic area of the city, a waterfront area with cobblestone streets and some of the best pubs in the city!

Planning on dinner at the Admiral Fell Restaurant, while I explain the culinary delights of the Maryland Blue Crab! Then planning on making "THE RUN"... bar-hopping!!!

Considering that princess wore then shipped off the panties Pixie sent her for the NN PANTIES WORLD TOUR, I'm wondering if either lady will wear panties tonite!

Pooh and I will have to discuss this over a draft of five!!!

Sunday, January 25, 2009, 11:49:57 PM- Bobby's back home.

Pixie and I went up to Sace-Western Reserve University for my brother's memorial service.

It was a good day, seeing family and listening to his friends and colleagues tell stories about my brother the professor, ham radion operator and sailboat skipper!

It was especially fantastic to go out to dinner with one of my two nephews who had a difficult relationship with his dad. Since his dad's death on December 9th, my man has had emotional
baggage piled up within.

Over dinner and a nice bottle of Chardannay, Pixie and his wife excused himself and I let him vent! It was fierce but I'm happy to say that after some raised voices and a couple of tears, he is whole!

I LISTENED, then allowed him some insight into the decade that my brother and I spent estranged after the death of our mother! He was able to extrapolate something from our discussions that eased his troubled heart and he was able to embrace his older sibling again.

I have brought some of my brother's cremins "home" to Maryland and will place them in a crypt in the memorial park where the great majority of our family rests!

A GREAT TRIP!!!
