... another apple to enjoy. This time it's Gala. Sweet and juicy, but not as good as my favorite - Fuji. They rule!

No, not that kind. lol The U-verse guy showed up today. He replaced my modum, DVR and gave me a newer, better remote control.

Yes, I lost my recordings, but they were movies and I have most of them on DVD anyway. I had them there for convenience any way. With the amount of movie channels I have, I'll not have much trouble finding and saving them again.

So. A happy ending and I'm a happy camper.

Late Tuesday night, I had trouble with my Uverse. I couldn't watch any of my recordings and soon lost my TV connection in the living room. I tried a reboot with no luck, so I went online to the website. After trying several options to fix the problem, I scheduled an appointment for today to have a technician look into the problem.

The technician was a half an hour early (kudos for THAT!). His name was Sam. The problem was they sent the wrong type of technician. This one specializes in outside hookups. I explained the problem, then turned on my system... of course, everything was working fine! It was like when you have an appointment with a doctor, how the pain goes away right before you go for your visit.

So, Sam the technician man asked me when I leave for work, to which I replied 3:00 pm. Sam told me that he would call it in and have someone by THURSDAY before 3:00 pm. I might either need a new remote or a new DVR... I have been using the same ones for 10 ears now.

The upside is new equipment... the down side is that I lose all of my recordings.

I grew up in a conservative, working class town, in a conservative mid-west state. I don't like to talk politics any more... I've pretty much seen it all or researched it while a history student. I can pretty much tell you who will win my state this fall, even though I won't be voting for them. As are many others I have seen, this election will come down to choosing the lesser of, in my opinion, two evils.

Today I have done something I rarely do... started to unfriend people on FB because they are spreading political hatred. All I did was post an unpolitical statement about a person not even running for president. All of the hateful comments posted finally pushed me over the edge. I have threatened to unfriend in the past, to no avail.

I try to only post upbeat, positive things (or at least honest statements) everywhere I am on social media, but some people try to turn things to their own agendas.

This has been an awakening for me. No matter if I've known someone my whole life, at my age I just don't have to and won't tolerate hate on any level any more.
