The person who says it can not be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it. -Chinese proverb

Well now that the cat is out of the bag,Innate lovers guessed what the project is(and so did twl btw ), I can now go into a little more detail . I was commissioned to do this piece. I am going to woodburn the top and as you will see at the bottom of this blog,I have carved the board reader. The board reader is just about 80% finished. This is where it is as of today. ![]() I am making small legs for it out of walnut. I will round the bottoms over so they will glide smoothly over the waxed surface of the board. ![]() That is all for now............. Congrats to Innate Lovers for guessing it is a Ouija Board ! ** Bonus(lol) Sometimes I am working on a doodle and I just get to a point I have no idea what to do on it next. So I must start another ....like on this one. ![]()

The project is coming along nicely. One thing I haven't told you is that this project has 2 pieces. So in this segment I show you the work I am doing on the second piece. However, if I showed you a direct look at this second piece you would know what the project is,sooooooooooooo I will show it to you indirectly. You still may get it from this glimpse...hehehehe In order to hold the piece to my workbench I need to make some holders...this is me cutting them on my bandsaw. ![]() This is me with my mallet in hand working on the piece. Incidentally, the second piece is made from beautiful walnut! ![]() ![]() Now in this last picture, I show you the workplace AFTER the workpiece is removed. The remnants of the walnut lay all around. Oh of course my cup of coffee is nearby as well hehe... ![]() That is all....for now.....

I've been thinking..... so here it is. Women who have been victims shouldn't turn their backs on other victims. I have noticed some move on quickly and others have deeper scars. I know a woman who was mistreated by a man but that man didn't hit other women. So just because he didn't hit other women it doesn't mean the woman being abused is lying. If any person has been abused before they should know that an abuser hides and lies well enough to cover there tracks. They need to do this in order to look innocent to others around them.

| Friday, August 23, 2013, 10:05:46 AM- Spiders Oh My! | ||||||
Took 2 pictures recently. They turned out amazing. This one was in a locker at work I use a lot. If your wondering what sort of spider that is....well yes indeed it is a Black Widow. ![]() This one is just an average field spider. But what makes this picture so cool is the well placed street light behind it. Makes the spider look like the light source lol. Very cool! [img] [/img]

The next step is to put a bevel on the lower edges. First I start by taking my marking gauge and mark along the length on the face. ![]() Then I mark along the length on the edge. ![]() Taking my metal bodied plane set to a thicker shaving I plane at an angle till I get closer to the lines. ![]() Then I use the older plane set to a much thinner setting and slowly edge my way closer and closer to the line. ![]() Can you see the difference between the 2 shavings? ![]() ![]() Now the bevel is now completed on all 4 sides. ![]() Getting closer. ![]()

Well here are the next couple pics in the project. I cut one of the boards down to the appropriate size. Jointed the edge,which is to say made it perfectly straight. Then I glued 2 boards side by side with a butt(yes I said butt hehehe ) joint,and clamped them... ![]() Then After the glue dried I now have a board with the dimensions of 11.75" x 17"(29.8 cm x 43.2 cm). Before I do anything else to it I have to flatten and smooth out the surface face. Of course I am going to use my favorite antique hand plane...(I love the shavings that come off it!) ![]() More to come soon....... Know what it is yet??lol
