amancalledpony's blog post - medical blog

I was worried what my blood tests were going to show. I have diabetes and high cholesterol. Two things that are very sensitive to diet and exercise. Well given some issues in my real life, the diet part is a total disaster.
So I was surprised when I got the first part of the labs back. My triglyc reading was well in normal at 144, two years ago it was over 800. Everything else on the lipid panel was really perfect. The best they have been since 2008
But I was worried about the glucose. My morning reading were bouncing and I knew it was all diet. But my spot glucose was the best since 2009. The A1C was still high at 6.2 but still dropping from last year ago and well below the high of 7.0 (6.0 is high normal range). So some work yet to do there.
I know no one but a small circle of friends give a damn about this. lol But I am proud of myself. Lost 30 pounds, about 10 to go but I need to work on muscle mass over that little bit. Thanks for reading this. smile

I have type 2 diabetes also, along with the high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high triglyc, so I know the difficulties fo keeping it all in check, so it is a good thing to read the good news, you are doing much better than me, so Cheers to you, keep it going

As I do not struggle with any of these matters, I do however understand how it can hinder ones life and lifestyle. That is good news! Keep up the good work, Pony. huggies to you.

That is great news Pony! I watch my mom and my aunt struggle with diabetes (neither of them do it well) so I know how hard it is. You are doing amazing and should be very proud of yourself!

Good job pony. Time to get in shape to run the range before you're put out to pasture.

All things in balance really starts to mean more as we age.
Awesome test results and doesn't it bring a smile to your face knowing they are this good through the time and effort that YOU put into making the needed changes?
