Sunday, January 9, 2011, 11:29:41 PM- Snow! Or "A Treatise Against the Supposed Effects of Global Warming"
So about 3-4 inches of snow have fallen here in the great white frozen tundra of North Texas today. I really do like it, and the kids have a blast in it for about 45 minutes to an hour. But I really do find it hilarious how worked up people around us will get regarding white fluffy stuff from above. Cars will still drive, and I don't see why they had to cancel hundreds of flights from the airport today!

How exactly is this proof of global warming? I generally trend towards the center on most hot-button topics, but put me in the camp that doesn't believe in the severity of the warming caused by people or the supposed effects on climate. And I really don't see how weather swings that have occurred for millennia can blamed on the last 150 years or so. And colder winters don't really tend to support the warming theorists' position.

Anyway, have a good week, whatever your weather conditions may bring.

Here we go, a full week off of work, which is definitely a huge positive. After the Christmas holiday and this week, it feels like almost 2 full weeks. However, balance that with the awkward family trip we're making, and it balances out, I think.
We're going to visit my family after a 5+ hour car trip. We're going to stay with my brother's ex-wife and kids, due to friendship with her, and wanting to be with our nieces. But the divorce was finalized a month ago, so yeah, kinda awkward. Oh well, it is what you make of it I guess.
I won't be on much this week, so see you next year!

Right now is WONDERFUL!! That time after everyone has been up at the butt-crack of dawn since the kids have been bouncing off the walls, all the presents have been exchanged and oohed and aahed over, late breakfast has been had; but before we start running all over creation to family's houses, having dinners, and houses full of people.

The kids are out playing with friends and new toys, wifey's dozing on the couch, I've got a few minutes to check in here. All is right with the world. Perfect.

Wifey and I dropped the kiddos at the babysitter's house last night, and took off for the casino. After a couple of hours, we left with double our money! We didn't go with that much to start with, but it's always a huge bonus to leave the casino with anything! We always plan to spend all we take, and consider it a night of expensive entertainment.
So, yay us!

I really don't see how people do the whole single parenting thing. There is just no way I'm cut out to handle 2 kids alone! Between breakfast, getting dressed, school, work, dinner, the grocery store, back to work (briefly), homework, and bath, I'm drained. I seriously just woke up in time to go to bed after a 2+ hour nap on the couch!

Much respect to the people who do this all the time! They're clearly a better man than I. And to wifey, who has to do this frequently when I travel, that goes double!

I got back today from my travels tonight, and wifey and I passed in the air. She's out of town til Thursday, and I'm uncomfortably horny! Her trip was planned, but I hate that we are away from one another for this long.

I always think and tell people that traveling for work isn't too bad, and truth be told I do kind of enjoy the time away in new places.

So why is it that I ALWAYS procrastinate getting packed, getting all my stuff together, and getting to bed more than four hours from when I need to be awake? I have to be awake at 4:30 in the freaking morning, and I'm still getting my shit together after midnight. My wife actually suggested I go hit a sale at Wal-Mart, since I'm up anyway.

Ah well, off to bed anyway, at least in a few minutes, that is.
