Saturday, September 5, 2009, 12:05:15 PM- Almost
Tomorrow we're off to the Lake District for two weeks. I still have some work to do today... Despite working from 7.30AM to 6PM yesterday I didn't get everything finished off... But I'm looking forward to getting away smile

Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 4:22:41 AM- Last hurdles
Not much blogging lately, didn't really seem to have a point, as all there is is work (blah, stress before going on holiday) and me trying to get my ass in shape (I finished Start To Run lesson 2). Three more days to finish my to-do list, still not sure how that'll come together... But one thing is sure: it'll involve overtime...

Friday, August 28, 2009, 4:22:57 AM- We had doors
And then we didn't... We ordered three different types of doors: cheap white one, "fancy" white ones with a motif and glass ones.

When they came, the fancy white doors didn't have the motif we asked, the glass doors were the wrong type of glass, one of the glass doors was the wrong size, the little plates to cover the locks were the wrong type, the handles on the glass doors were the wrong type, and they installed the door frame for the toilet with the door opening in the wrong direction.

Bloody hell, such incompetence *sigh* And on top of that we'll need to take an extra day off work when they'll come to install the RIGHT material... I am NOT happy.

Thursday, August 20, 2009, 8:14:16 PM- Poor kitty
Houdini has a wound on one of his hind legs and it's gotten inflamed and swollen. The vet prescribed antibiotics and (the saddest yet funniest part) one of those "lampshades" to keep him from licking the wound. He's not too happy about it, lol.
The vet did also say he has to lose weight... He weighs 7 kg, and according to her he needs to lose 2 kg. I know he has a bit of a belly, but two full kilos? He'd be skin and bones, he's a large cat unsure Anyway, bf bought "diet food" for him *sigh*

Wednesday, August 19, 2009, 4:36:40 AM- Bitch
It's not something that happens regularly, but I was a total PMS bitch yesterday. The stress at work and lack of sleep were probably contributing factors too tongue

And I ordered "sport" headphones for my new MP3 player, and they turned out to be too big! *sigh*

Saturday, August 15, 2009, 2:29:39 PM- Tribute
To the most well known (in the best way) guy on NN! Thanks to his smuggling ways I am now no longer in desperate need for new pants, as he managed to send me two pairs of jeans that are only available in the US:

And apparently Houdini approved as well, as a few minutes later I found him snuggling up on one of the pairs...

Wednesday, August 12, 2009, 7:31:56 PM- Victories, big and small
Two men who haven't seen my butt are talking about it? Strange world wink

And victory is mine, we're staying one night in London, so I get to antiques shop till I drop smile Or more correctly, shop till I'm broke wink

I went running the day before yesterday, it didn't go particularly well, but not worse than I had expected. And I didn't have sore legs the day after, so it could have been worse. I'll try again tomorrow if the weather is good. On a side note, I knew we moved to a more "suburban" area, but I didn't expect to find myself in the middle of pastures and trees after just a few minutes walking/running, nice surprise smile

"Running is a killer on the legs! My tip is stretch them before and after. The muscles down the back of the calf. It really helps. You say two guys are talking about your bum!! Really? Who? oh I'm one!! lol. xx

if you bend over to stretch, I think a pic is in order :-) oops I'm at it again lol. xx"

Sunday, August 9, 2009, 4:41:06 PM- Overly courageous?
To complement my weight training workouts, I've decided to start running... Knowing myself and my problem with self discipline, it might be overly courageous. But better than not trying at all... All I have to do now is: dig up my running shoes and heart rate monitor (from the last time I was overly enthusiastic to do sports wink ) and buy an MP3 player (running "lessons" in MP3).

I don't know if this is internationally known, but the MP3s are based on the "start to run" program, which originally started as an initiative for people to start running in group. A few years ago, there was a Belgian television program around this initiative, and subsequently an MP3 collection was created: a well known presenter recorded instructions on when to run, when to walk, etc. and it also included music to keep people motivated.

If I can follow this program, I should be able to run 5km in 10 weeks... Optimistic wink But just following the MP3 lessons three times a week would be a good achievement.

Saturday, August 8, 2009, 5:54:06 PM- Nerdette
Oh joy, instead of two (mirrored) hard disks of 250GB, I now have two (mirrored) hard disks of 250GB AND two (mirrored) hard disks of 750GB smile My hard disks were very full, and, considering that every photo I take is about 20MB, memory fills up fast...

And by the way, I finally have all my weight training equipment smile Now I just have to reorganise/empty the garage to have some space to work out...
